I'm considering buying an 85 odyssey. The gentleman has let me have it for a few weeks to check it over and try it out, I couldn't be any luckier. It starts runs and drives. It needs suspension bushings and steering bushings, shocks, and maybe an Engine freshen up Etc.
I'm finding new stock parts are outrageously expensive and don't trust the used eBay stuff . I intend to use this on my farm and don't need to do any crazy upgrades to it. I would be perfectly happy with the stock set up, although the sloppy linkages and bearings make it a bit dangerous.
(Not sure if I should buy or not). He gave me a new belt with it along with front wheel bearings ( of course I am unable to get the drums off ) i'm sure I can browse this site and find all the information I need but it would be helpful to be steered in the right direction.

Well first things first. Welcome new guy. If you need a manual in pdf form you can get it here free: http://oddatv.com/fl250-fl350-factory-manuals/
To get the drums off you will probably have to back off the adjuster -- see manual.
Hoser will probably move this to the tech section as it is now posted in wrong place, buts that's ok.

He let you have it for a few weeks?

Huh, don't think I've ever met someone that would do that.

What country are you in?

If the price is right then buy it as they are fun but you better be willing an able to wrench these things. They are now over 30 yrs old so for sure most are beat. Also some parts are not available anymore so you may be buying off fleabay weather you like it or not.
Also nothing in life is cheap so you will be paying $$$ -- that's just a fact of life in owning an oddy. If you are not willing to spend money and time then I would pass. Just my opinion.

Finding stuff on this site.
Searching for info:
The best way to find something here is to use the search box above.
In the search box type ONE word ONLY and hit enter. If you don't you will get to many hits.
When the list of threads comes up there will be another search box there on the right.
In that box type ONE word ONLY. Keep doing this as many times as you want until you have narrowed it down. Some common words will be ignored like "Engine" "Honda" etc.
