any info on it? the last one in december was 3 50 mile laps for 150 miles total. i don't think i would want to do something like that. 150 miles at race speeds, just doesnt sound like a good idea to me. maybe in something like my RZR-S, but i wouldn't do it in my pilot.

I raced the pilot 75 miles and was worn out... but had stock fronts on... sooo... Oh and I'm old too...
The guy's running the show are accomadating us and if we decide on a shorter race it could be done... basically a guy has to pace himself and his machine... I won the 75 mile race because I FINISHED the race...

After all the desert riding I have done in the past few years I would love to try a 150 mile desert race, I would rather we laid out our own course and did it on our terms, mainly for safety of not having 4k lbs trucks and buggys trying to pass you.

Havasu area would be the bomb I could map out a 200 mile per lap course easily with all the GPS data I have collected of that area, we could have everything from tight trails to WOT (Wide Open Throttle) flat runs at top speed, could even have some sections that slowed you to almost a crawl if people wanted, for a all day race we would probably want a chase truck to bring gas at a pit stop.

Camping would be primitive and FREE, entry would be FREE, unless someone wanted to collect fees then pay out to the winners just to add to the excitement.

Hoser and I talked about this while we were in Havasu and I like the idea!!!
If anything call it a west coast jamboree... It would be a gret friendly way to compete with out any feelings getting hurt...
I am now a temporary resident of the Arizona area... I have rented a parking/storage spot in the Phoenix area! I am curently in my rv in the desert wells OHV area just putting some time on the triple eee and Odyssey! Slickrick and Afastcar and I had dinner the other night and Rick came out to ride the Odyssey with me a bit today! I plan on being here in the Phoenix area till Monday of next week... Then I will fly home and get my truck and go to work... then do it all again!
I will be racing a whiplash race this next weekend so come out and cheer me on/pit crew help needed!!!
The adventure has begun...

talked to westecbuilder, he is most likely going. So far that's potentially 6 pilots and 1 stadium car, maybe 2 ody's. Sounds like a good buggy trip shaping up.

Forecast keeps changing, saturday says 60% chance of rain.
http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USCA0061
Shoubadaba is out, he and his family are all sick. Turtle-D might show upearly sunday morning after a hunt he is going on saturday night, but his pilot is out of commission, a chunk of the piston broke off, the part that divides the rings. I am going for sure, trailer is already loaded, looks like I will be towing in the rain though. Why cant the weather do what we want it to?

Feel fortunate you're no up here in Norther Nevada right now. Wind is gusting so hard that a few of the highways up here are prohibiting high profile vehicles and it's supposed to snow up here on and off for the rest of the week! Doesn't look like I'm going anywhere. I was actually contemplating making the trip down.

Good possibility, the wife is chomping at the bit to go riding somewhere. Especially after she heard her Ody running last night!

Well, the trip was a success. Had a great time, got some good riding in, got PPP's pilots dialed in for the most part, and most important, niether one of his pilots "Popped" LOL...cant say the same for the EEE though. Some of the high points of the trip...
My pilot: plug chops looked good, no re-jet
EEE: plug chops looked a bit lean so went to bigger mains, everything else looked good.
PPP's stock pilot: needed no re-jetting after reading a few plug chops, ran great all weekend no issues.
PPP's modified pilot: needed major re-jetting, pulled carb, tore down and cleaned after seeing some bad lookin stuff in the slide area, went from a 185 main to a 200 main, a 40 pilot jet to a 45 pilot jet, #4 groove on the needle (second from the bottom), and his air/fuel screw was only about 3/4 of a turn out, set it to 1&1/2 out. Jetting turned out to be DEAD ON! Damn, guess I'd rather be lucky than good HA HA! His pilot ran good, but after a while it was acting like the floats were stuck, turns out his fuel line was falling apart and chunks of crap were in the carb making the float valve stick, replaced fuel line, cleaned carb, but must have been more crap we didnt see, also had a rear tire leaking, got some good rides out of it, by that time the trip was pretty much over anyway.
Got some rain friday night along with 900mph winds, blew the trailer all over the damn place. Dunes got tore up a bit, but we still rode. Hell, we rode in the rain! Rained a bit saturday night too.
Threw the dirt tires on the UTV's and hit Sperry Wash, it was full of water and was really cool, tons of fun tromping though the streams.
Went to little dumont, met up with some of PPP's friends. Hung out for a bit, then headed back to camp.
Trip ended sunday night for PPP and his crew, they packed up and went home, they had to prep for their trip to Spain...bastards!!!! lol
Monday we visited the mine over at little dumont. Rode the little dunes a bit as well. Had fun. Returned to camp and finished loading stuff up, went to start the EEE, and she no go! Ran fine all weekend, and she didnt want to fire to come home. Guess she didnt want to leave!
Got home, unloaded stuff, got to work on the EEE today and come to find out the head gasket on the magneto side is blown, water leaked out through the exhaust, leak down test showed ok otherwise, compression is at 135 each side, so new head gaskets should cure the beast.

Anyway, trip was fun, had a blast, wish we could get more guys to ride.

PPP told me he got some really good videos, so will be waiting for those to show up on youtube. I got some "ok" ones, will post them later.

Carb is a keihin 39, the stuff in the carb was the old fuel line (non-honda, just black hose) which was falling apart. We removed it and looked inside, it was all cracking apart sending particles into the carb. These chunks kept working their way into the float valve making it stick open and let fuel flow right out of the overflow tubes.
