It was a great weekend. I ended up being a site photographer for the 2 days...1500 pictures!
The Saturday ATV sand drags was mostly dirt with a hint of sand so the ATC250R with padddles was way too much bite, absolutely couldnt keep the front down the entire track. Raced against bikes n quads. Pretty sure the trike could of beat anything there except I couldnt get out of the hole with a stock swingarm. Crowd enjoyed me doing wheelies out the finish line I think.
I ran the BV400/350 Ody on the tuff truck course Sunday. Its a lot of steep jumps, log climbs, table tops, mud, long straight aways, high banked turns, hill climbs, serpentine, etc. It was maybe 3/4 or a mile long then a u turn and return the same path. They asked if I wanted to run the ody with the off road trucks on the course. I said sure but its not 4 wheel drive. Starting line had a huge knee deep puddle of muck, (mud water clay etc). They made you put the front tires in to start, barely get thru the start before shorting out the plug with water. I didnt go 10 feet after that, lol. I taped it boot closed for the 2nd attempt. It was awfully rough even with Works shocks. I busted both front fenders on the log crossing or table tops on the return trip. I didnt know how fast to hit em being I did not do any practice runs or even walk the thing. Anyway, I ended up 2nd place by 1/100th of a second and was very conservative driving most of the time. Money was good, paid for all the gas n entry fees with about $50 left over....cant buy new fenders with that!
I have a ton of pics to post but just have these on my cell phone for now.
There is another race 22 Sept about an hour from here. The have an AMX course???? Said its a kidney shaped track with some long sweeping humps n banked corners plus the sand(dirt) drag strip with the tree also. If I can get 3 rigs there, he will make a class just for us. I have a buddy who just got a 580 RZR, he wants to try it. Anyone else interested?
