what happened with the brakes? that system was out for a long time and is great, just need an old school chevy wrench. Its on all those old gm diesels pos. Adjusting rear drum are very important on those, any low pedal or soft pedal that is not a hose bulging is adjustment. Hard pedal can be as easy as a belt adjustment or pump replacement. belt almost feels like a pulsing or chatter.
I have a P30 manual from the old motorhome, if you ever need some thing copied and emailed, email me,
harescrambles@comcast.netI still don't know at this point. It now has new calipers, pads, rotors and rubber brake lines. It has two belts that drive the power steering pump and both belts look ok. I have pedal but if I need to stop abruptly, i have to mash the pedal to get the RV to stop, I don't have any pulsing or chattering when applying pedal. The RV is a 1993 P30/32 with 16,000 miles. Im sure it has been sitting without use for a few years at one point in time. I am thinking the proportioning valve might be not letting the fluid get to the calipers or my master cylinder is malfunctioning. When you mash the pedal, the front does not nose dive so Im thinking my problem in in the front, My mechanic said they checked rears and they were ok. Thanks Hare for the info and I will surely email you if I need any docs from the manual!
