I thought the Briggs were a bit heavier, which is why they had such a highly modded Engine setup, to compensate for the added weight?

Mteg rules stated the car had to weigh 700 lbs. A pilot is 605 dry. Add fuel and fluids and safety nets and equipment and number plates and its about 700. The briggs cars were built of cromoly and the engines were lightened as much as possible. that's the reason they ran no pull starters and such small fuel tanks so keep weight to the minimum.

With 100 percent stock engines in my pilots it would not be very fun running tail end charlie and getting lapped even worse. Maybe my kids will be into it though

A stock suspension pilot won it last year and a stock pilot got second. So your pilots will do well.

Yeah Tadrad, I was ready to go race at Elsinore myself. My daughter lives in Lake Elsinore and I wouldn't have to worry about room and board or dragging the motorhome all the way down from Northern Nevada. Then these guys decided to go with Riverside.

Bummer!

Running both tracks would make sense to me simply because it's way more fun to be challenged by different tracks/surfaces etc. It would probably also add numbers given that there are some more riders that have easier access to Lake Elsinore. A good way to build the numbers all around for long term! I've seen pilot/odyssey race divisions collapse due to the stagnancy of only having one track.

Of course I understand it is probably a cost issue and also the organization too. Be great to see something in SoCal grow to a division like others around the nation. I'll be at Riverside to watch :-)

Lake Elsinore wants $2000 plus insurance to race. That would cost each of us about $200. Unless we get 30 cars or sponsors Elsinore is not likely.

Man, that's a bummer.... I watched footage of the track on youtube, looked pretty wicked!
Guess it's still way cheaper to meet in the desert.... Anyone, anyone? :-)

You can practice at Elsinore for $40. The Dirt Series is racing there on March 10th.

Well the race is only 2 weeks away. I hope everyone has their cars ready. I'm finally going to wash mine. Been to cold. It still has mud from the Las Vegas race in Nov.

It was the Lucas Oil Off Road Regional Series shootout. It was on the big Lucas Oil track at Las Vegas motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) Speedway. They are supposed to show the R1 Rhino class and Mini Stock truck class on MavTV sometime. Only 2 buggies but we ran with about 10 RZR XP and some adult trophy karts.

Since I am parting my pilot out, I might run Halorising's LT pilot. Shoubadaba was supposed to, but he is going to have his Briggs running good, so I will drive the LT.

I guess we never posted a schedule. The track opens at 8AM I think between everyone showing up and putting together lineups we should be racing by 10 AM Anybody should be able to practice starting at 8AM so get there early.

Is there a specific place the number needs to be? I don't have a number so I would just pick one nobody else is using.

No real rule for this race. Last year we had a few Electrical tape Numbers. It helps the people scoring but we should know where we finish ourselves..

haha I have done that electric tape thing before also have done the paper plate and black marker thing always had the most fun at them low tech less demanding races have seen tech not pass numbers a guy bought because they were 1/2" too short guy had to dress them up with a black marker to make it pass

Looks like I can make this race on Sat. the 2nd. I'll have to find my wrist restraints though, I stashed them in my container. I purchased a new OEM set when I bought the pilot, but they were WAY TOO pretty and clean to use. Doug- "Desperately clinging to utopian illusions"
