OK, so I'm planning to take off and head for Pismo on Wednesday 7/15, I hope to get there around 2 ish but I have not checked the tide schedule yet, I don't want to drive in at high tide, I'll plan to get a fairly wide spot at the beach, hopefully plenty if anyone else wants to brave the water like me. If I can get every ones cell number that is going I'll text the GPS location and let you know about where I am.
Also If I know when your going to be out I'll unhook and air down to help if you need a tow. Planning to stay into Tuesday, if Vandenberg viewing area allows trailers I'll go there for the midnight launch otherwise I'll plan to stay till Wednesday 7/22 morning.

Ah Ha! I stand corrected.

They are Wind Sailors or scientifically know as Velella Velella.

I was there one year and saw the sand crabs spawning. It was really a sight to see. The shore line was literally boiling!

So my hopeful plan for when I get there is to unload the RZRs on the beach and drive them in, unhook the trailer and have Kuma tow it in and drop it, then have the RV towed straight in and parked, minimal towing and able to tow out in reverse. Would be good to get all the RVs in this way.

I am currently planning on arriving Thursday around noon'ish. I will keep you posted as we get closer.

We have those stinky things all over the Oregon Coast too. They keep coming back. Boy do they make your rig stink if you run over them. We call them purple sailors

When they were at pismo, they washed up, then a bit later the tide took them back out,

They were coming back every few days for a while. Some days they were only there for high and low tides,
Others they would stay for a couple days. This lasted for weeks.

Checked on http://www.reserveamerica.com and plenty of spots left, lots of time to make reservations too. Hopefully we get a nice size group out there. Halo has a buddy who might drive is 4x4 Tundra, so Kuma will have a little help with towing people in and out. If I wasn't bringing the RV, I would take the 1991 K5 Blazer I picked up at the end of last year. Sold off the 2005 GTO because I never drove it, and when I did drive it someone would always end up door dinging it or something else to piss me off, so I got rid of it and got my Blazer. It's a bit of a project, but I love it. Guess I should put a project thread on it.

I'm locked and loaded. I have a few friends (non-board members) who will be joining too. Halo said he was going to make his reservation this week. Last time I talked to Randman, he was sort of on the fence about being able to go or not. I heard PilotLoGo had an incident with a toyota 4Runner, but thankfully he was ok, just a bent rim? Hopefully he can still make the trip. Hope this will be a great trip, really looking forward to an escape from this friggin heat! I just made an overnight trip to Las Vegas for a gathering at PPP's establishment, and my A/C went out in the Honda CR-V for the ride home! It was only 110 degrees across the desert! What a nightmare.

So, I thought you would like this one. I have 2 rc rock crawlers and I have been a few times to this place called Vasquez Rocks, about an hour and a half away from me. Well, below is a pic of when Hedly Lamar was giving his "go do that voodoo that you do" speech, and the next pic I took myself.

Rusty and I were RC rock crawling there one day and a guy asked me to take his picture and told me why. So I googled it, and sure enough, there we were! So I snapped a pic of my own as well.

On another topic, or rather the original topic, PISMO!!! Two weeks away!!! Spots are selling out fast, better book while you can.
