Well,

Today I blew the knuckle out in my 400 pilot. and my 600HO pilot has carbs which act like moving targets.

In short, both machines broke down today at my normal riding place. Not happy. Outa beer. Going to bed.

I have a set of what I believe are 600 carbs, I can get pictures and price if interested.

Well that's a kick in the nuts. Can you get them repaired in time for ride? Be nice to have two vehicles in case one fails

There is hope. I was able to snag a knuckle/hub complete assm with ball joint from eBay from that tnt seller. Hope it comes and doesn't need to be rebuilt. That should mostly fix my fl400. My fl600ho I believe just needs more seat time with tuning the main - or opening up the airbox/filter. I think the current airbox puts seriously bad angles/restriction on the carbs making them wander at various loads.

Also I'm building a 3rd machine. This one will be an FL350r but with a Rotax 617. Its all apart and awaiting parts deliveries, etc. It will surely be a rough, fender-less basket case build though. My plan for it is minimum expense budget build with a wild-man outcome.

Nice the fl350 should be a beastly machine. If you can get the 400,s knuckle situation repaired, most of us have some hands on with 2 stroke carbs, maybe less on dual set ups but nonetheless we can help with getting them dialed in. Lots of open spaces at these dunes for tuning.

Congratulations on snagging the knuckle. That air cleaner setup looks great, very compact and good looking.
Much better than my setups.

Update for the Little Sahara trip.

I'm planning to go for sure! Got my tire mounting stuff and all ready to change/swap out dirt with sand tires etc. I might even have the above crazy 350 ready for some play-time - who knows. Now just today I broke the news to my wife, and she started yellin about some pandemic. I was ready though, and Oklahoma has far fewer cases than Georgia. Plus - in the desert I'm not sure a virus would survive long. Right now it is not a no, but not a definate yes either. Thus far I made amens by offering basically my left kidney in return for allowing me a few days for this trip. I think in the next 2-3 days I should know for sure. Hopefully by Sunday I'll have a site booked.

Thursday, surgery happened Monday.Rzrs don't come with wrist restraints but these Ace’s need them.I did already get some though,But since I’m one handed right now I have not been able to hook them up to see how they’re going to work, these go around your arms and secure to harness
