I'm new here but we have a group of quads, rzr's, probably a few bikes, and a few chinabuggies (might bring my ody too) meeting up in Trevorton PA the weekend of Oct 9/10. the group is from various forums, should be a good mix. if you've never been there it's a great place to ride with varied types of trails. I can post the gps coords if anyone is interested. just downloaded a topo map of the area for my gps, hopin to not get lost this time. this will be my first time camping there(please no rain!). the more the merrier if you're up for a ride.

nobody's up for it! this is a great place to ride, it's not a "forum thing" where everybody knows each other just riding.

my 85 ody

lets see,
+5 LT kit
Afco Silver Series set up by MakinTrax (produces just under 14" rear and just over 12" front)
Rhino HD axles
26" Bighorns
"S" wheels
Procomp Spots
Lowrance Out&Back
interior lights
red soft top
2 rear view mirrors

It is actually still pretty close to a stock machine, just basic upgrades. Pretty happy with how it is working at the monment, was not happy with the handling of the original 50" wide setup.

Does it have the travel of the S or more?

You find enough trails in your area you can ride with the extra width?

just under 14 in the rear and just over 12 in the front. the rear tires do get into the fenders a little under full compression so I have left the original slim fender flares on. this is also why I changed out the axles for one's with a little more articluation.

the width has not been a problem at all. to be honest the machine was not acceptable to me in it's original 50" format. it's very close the width of the rear of my odyssey so it seems "normal" to me. the width has not presented a problem thus far, just a tight fit in the pickup!

ody will fit, even fit into my old Tacoma. i'll look for a pic. which truck do you have.

gotta start using the ody more, need to find a replacement works shock. i have a bent one with 2hrs on it ugh! my buddies son caught a tree and took out the shock and the axle stub. bought a new axle, bearings, etc but still trying to decide what to do about the shock. can't go back to frozen stockers!

pics of before the works performance shocks. after installing the shocks the car would absorb most of this "jump" with very little "air". the rears totally changed the car, the fronts were a mild improvement(guess the stockers were pretty good!).

guessing the works add a little travel as well becuase the chassis now hits the ground under full compression (never actually measured the travel). the car just works so nicely now. hard to believe it's 25yrs old, must have been ahead of it's time. would love to try out one of those redlines!

i'm new here so I'm guessing this is a bad vendor, who should i go to in order to find a single works performance shock. or, should i just bite the bullet and send it back to wp? guessing shipping is roughly $20 each way plus the $125 they mentioned for repair comes out to $165 for something that costs $210 new, ugh.

lesson learned, can't let anyone drive the toys anymore. in the space of a few weeks my buddy's son wrecked the ody and my nieghbor wrecked my rzr(led to most of the mods). this happened just over a year ago and i haven't let anyone try out any of the toys since. i always really enjoyed seeing peoples first response to driving these vehicles, created a few riding buddy's this way too but not gonna chance it anymore.

we must be thinking of dif shocks, these are the basic a/t steelers no resi's, no adj comp or rebound. chucklenuts at aftershot motorspurts has them listed at 450/pair. which ones were you thinking of?
