What would be the cause of low pulse presure from a fl250 Engine. My brother picked up a fl250 with good compression and in good shape. Guy said the fuel pump went out. SO he bought a new mikuni pump and installed it and it still wont pump. Hes lives Vegas and Ill be going out there in a week to get it going for him. He said the comp is at 130 and the carb is all cleaned. He has disconected the fuel line from the carb and has pulled it for more then 30 times with no fuel .He blew out all the fuel lines to the tank and installed all new hoses and fuel filter. He gets pulse from the line with his finger over the hole. What should I look for or test or try during my trip out there? I have not had much time working on the 250s as I do with the 350s and pilots. Thanks for any info

First try the pump without the bypass tee hooked up.

Try it on full and reserve.

Make sure the pulse tube is full flowing.

FL350 I am working on thought fuel pump was bad turned out the former owner had the bypass tee in backwards should have known better since he had the slow jet and the air screw swapped around on the carb.

Also discovered it will not pump gas when turned to reserve.

All the hoses have been replaced. I'll be sure to log everything and take pics.

Heres an update. Got started on my brothers fl250 today. Checked all the lines. All new all hose clamps right. Brand new fuel pump. New filter. Pulled the line odr pepcock and fuel flows freely. Comp was at 112. tried starting it with fuel line off from pump to carb and could get nothing to flow. I brought my fl250 and so we pulled my pump and still didn't work. So I checked the pulse pressure on my buggy then tested his and found out mine pulses 3 time more pressure. So we pulled his Engine and found his lower end is done. Almost 5mm of end play and verticle movement as well. With the low comp and the shot lowerend I have come to the conclusion the Engine is in need of a complete overhaul to fix the low pulse pressure problem
