Thanks for any help

Why?

You really cant see much of a installed Pilot or Odyssey Engine, any type of blasting of aluminum just opens up the pores of the aluminum and makes dirt stick better in the future, your Engine wont run any better if it looks cleaner or newer and will be dirty again after the first ride.

Save the blasting time and energy for removing rust so you can repaint and preserve the metal for the future :-) Go ride and enjoy your fresh rebuild.

Install the Engine and before you run it for the first time check the compression write it down then during the break in process check it again and record again use this data to tell when your Engine is starting to get weak again in the future.

Yes you are safe if you make sure you don't hit any of the flat machined surfaces. I did it on the wife's FL350 cylinder and head that was extremely mud encrusted. I removed as much of the mud and crud that I could but decided to media blast it anyway.

Personally, I wouldn't do the Engine case. Other than making it pretty, it adds nothing to cooling or performance.

As hoser mentioned, it will be prone to getting crap stuck to the cylinder and head if you run in a muddy environment. I run in the sand and dry desert so it looks the same as when I first did it.
