so i sprayed all the dirt and gunk off my Engine with foaming de-greaser gel let it sit for like 45mins and sprayed it off with water.
i ran it for awhile up and down the street today "like a month later" and it still seems to have smoke rising from the bottom of the head " carb side to clutch side "
its a light blue-ish smoke that makes me think its oil and not degreaser burning off.

is there a way to find out where this is coming from and how to test for a bad head gasket?

any help would be great, i just got ORV tags and do not want to go riding if this can damage my Engine.

thanks Pete.

Do a compression check first. If it passes then do the leak down test. Unfortunately you have to remove exhaust pipe and carb and plug holes to do it. When in doubt on any oddy Engine don't screw around. Do a leak down and check fuel pump flow once a year.

well time to take her to a shop, since i do not own a compression kit or leak kit, bummer.
i may just replace the gasket since its only 15 bucks vs 90 bucks for a decent compression tester.

thanks for the response, Pete.

Tacoma/Puyallup area, I see you're on the East side. I was talking to a buddy he said he has a kit.
but thanks anyways. I will post results this weekend hopefully.

happy Thanksgiving, Pete.

well i did a compression test was 145# so that seems good to me, also i noticed fresh looking oil around my intake boot so i'm gonna take it off and check for cracks and leaks.
have not done a leak down test yet. i'm gonna guess it's just that intake boot leaking.
