Ran my FL250 about 30-40 hours over a year and now piston has eroded the top down to the first ring. See photo. Anyone with ideas why? Always ran 20:1 mix and not more that 1/2 throttle.
Pretty sure this happened within my ownership as exhaust pipe when I installed it was solid black. Now it has particles of silver Aluminum laying in the pipe.

File comment: Note piston seems eroded. No carbon build up. No piston crack or hole or hot spot.

Wow that's nasty.
Seems like it ran lean.
Check the flow on your fuel pump. You need about 4.5oz in ten seconds using a starter.
What kind of fuel you running ?? Possible poo fuel on the #10 turd scale.
