I do plan to get the Bore part done at a local machine shop but was wondering what the stock bore is, so I can get the proper piston kit. I'm new to Engine rebuilding so was also wondering if the stock bore size was known and then the bore measured at .20 over that, and I had it bored to .50. Would I buy a .50 over Piston Kit? Thanks in advance.

lol just kidding.

My best advice is for you to get a copy of the FL250 service manual and read the part about inspecting and rebuilding the Engine it has all the answers.

How I do it is take the cylinder and clean it up good then hone it with my ridged hone (not a ball hone) to see what the condition of the cylinder wall is if its worn even I will continue to hone it until its ready for a new piston then I measure the bore and look in the manaul to see if the cylinder bore is with in spec for that bore size.

A example of what I am talking about here http://pilotodyssey.com/PO/viewtopic.ph ... ight=an112

Thanks man! But what is the normal stock bore size? Also, I see you do this sort of stuff. What would you charge me if I send you my jug and you bore it and then tell me what piston kit size I need to buy or do you sell this as well?

I would be interested in working on your cylinder I get 35.00 for the CSI bore and hone, you supply the piston rings once I figure out what size you need, you pay actual shipping cost both ways.

Sorry I don't sell parts I allow each owner to buy them so they are allowed to shop around and get the best price :-)

If your interested you can send me a PM for the shipping info.

Cool deal. I'll send you a PM. Also, are all the Cylinder Jugs the same for all year FL250's?

Hoser, did you get the Jug yet? Or do I need to start asking the seller for some tracking info? Thanks.

Yup cylinder came today, its rusted alright, I gave it a quick cleaning and hone it will need bored for sure, looks like current bore is 70.62mm I think it will need a 71.50mm piston I still need to put it on the boring machine and make a few cuts to see how deep the pits from the rust go.

Will try to get to it tomorrow morning first thing.

Here are a few pics, camera was acting up grrr

The ridged hone shows the wear on the cylinder wall, or the wear spots.

File comment: .

Where the rings wore the cylinder, usually this is caused by a loose fitting piston rocking in the bore as the piston changes direction causing the rings to scrub the cylinder

I might have to remove this dowels on the bottom of the cylinder to bore it they are rusted in place so will be destroyed when I remove them.

No problem on removing Dowels. I assume they are replaceable anyways. Thanks for taking this project on. I'll await your final bore before buying a piston.

Hi
Your cylinder is bored and I started to hone it will need a 1.0mm over bore piston or a 71mm piston kit, once I get the piston I can measure it and finish hone the cylinder to the proper clearances..

I looked on Service Hondas website they still list the parts as still being available you will have to call them to verify below is the part numbers, one each except for the "CLIP" you want 4 of these two for you two for my stock.

Also note I list two wrist pins get them both if you can I will keep one for my stock also.

You will also note they list 3 different wrist pin bearings (in blue) not sure why but you need just one of the three I supplied all 3 numbers.

don't worry I will pay you for the parts lol

13105-358-000 PISTON (1.00) $43.69
13015-358-003 RING SET (1.00) $21.41
94601-18000 CLIP (18MM) $0.58 NEED 4 of these
13111-357-000 PIN A, PISTON $12.58
13112-357-000 PIN B, PISTON $9.22
91014-357-003 BEARING 1 $15.89
91015-357-003 BEARING 2 $15.89
91016-357-003 BEARING 3 $15.89

The above is for the Honda parts they are by far the best parts to use and will end up being cheaper than after market parts, let me know what is and is NOT available for these parts please.

You can use Google and search for each part number you might find some of these parts on ebay or else where if a Honda shop does not have them.

If you cant get the Honda parts then you will need to go with the wiseco kit.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Now onto the gaskets do you have a copper head gasket if so you can reuse it if not the Honda part number for a head gasket is 12251-358-306
The cylinder gasket number is 12191-357-306
Exhaust manifold gasket 18359-357-000

Service Honda site http://www.servicehonda.com/hard%20part ... s_old.html

Again you can search for each part number in Google.

Actually I need the piston and rings to complete the bore

And the extra parts I wanted for my stock if available :-)

Keep in mind you need to verify you can get all these parts from Honda piston, rings, wrist pin, circlips if you cant get all of them you might as well go wiseco, you cant use Honda piston and wiseco rings or wiseco circlips not sure about the wrist pins, the wrist pin bearing is standard it will work with either Honda or wiseco.

You ask for a price on a wiseco piston kit form them?

I guess you need to start searching for the best price on a wiseco kit...

I found these on evilbay I would make a low ball offer on the parts.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... 05-358-000
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... 15-358-003

Then get the 2 circlips wrist pin and bearing from Service Honda.

If you order the 2 circlips wrist pin and bearing from Service Honda double up on the order I will buy the spares from you all these parts will also work in my ATC250R

I just sent them an email on the Wiseco, if they can get it, I will get the other spares as well. If not, I'll have to eBay the Wiseco Kit and send it direct to you, so you can finish the Hone. I'll let you know what Service Honda says.

Service Honda wanted part numbers, etc. Too much trouble. I'll buy the 71mm Wiseco Kit and send it directly to you. You can finish the hone and I'll pay the $35 for your Hone work and add for the shipping. Let me now when you get the Wiseco.

Thanks for the hard work, the Jug looks great.

Ok I will let you know when it gets here.

Todays parts guys would not make a pimple on a real parts guys ass!

Most my experiences with ATV parts guys has been bad bunch of lazy punk ass kids that if they cant have the info handed to them would never find the parts they are more interested in getting off the phone so they can go burn a cigarette or so they can play with their smart phone they could care less if MPDano ever gets a part.

REAL parts guys would have told you "let me call you back" then found the numbers and seen i they are available called you back. they also would have discovered that its the same parts used in the MT250 motorcycles and searched them numbers also.

I have only ONE REAL automotive parts guy left he works at NAPA and know of only ONE REAL motorcycle ATV parts guy, for all my ATV parts I always look up the parts numbers myself automotive stuff I go to my NAPA guy.

Well said hoser. I totally agree, had the same experience at the Parts Counter in a local Ford Dealership. I asked for a specific interior body part for my Ford Expedition. This was before online parts researching, he had a Microfiche machine right in front of me, but instead of looking up the part number, he asked "ME" for the part number. I'm like, how the hell do I know, that's why I am here. They don't post part numbers in haynes manuals. Ughh, walked out and never looked back.

Anyways, I bought the 71mm Wiseco Piston Kit and the seller is shipping directly to you. Let me know when you have it.

Muchas Gracias!!

Hi hoser,

Wiseco Piston Kit should have arrived by now. Not hurrying you, just want to make sure you have it in hand by now.
