You guys better watch out now, I just bought one of those Evilbay had grenades. Picked up a FL250 motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) & it has a water cooled jug with a reed valve of some type and a power block clutch, i've heard of these clutches but I don't know if there any good or not. I don't really know what size the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is it has a bore of 3-5/16" and a stroke of 3"s, anyone know what size that might be?

No I don't its in wisconsin right now, if Hoser has the time I'm going to ship it right to his place and have him go through it. The story goes this guy bought it years ago for a project and he never used it. Theres a sticker on the jug that says Northwest sleeve in Oregon. I did notice in one of the pictures it doesn't have an exhaust bridge is that good or bad?

I have the auction saved but I really don't know how to send it, I see there's a send this to a friend link but other than the forum's address I didn't know what to add to put it where it needed to be. Hoser if you would PM me your address I will have him send it to you, thanks.

Hi Nick, I was able to do it once and only once ,couldn't get it to work after that. If you find my thread here in the BS section titled ( Send Ebay Link) you will find the Ebay link to the auction there.

i think that is FL250 cylinder?

if the power block is in good shape it is well worth the $100 or bucks

It's either an FL350 cylinder or an 81-84 ATC250R 300R cylinder. The head looks very close to a 300R head that's been chopped up a bit.

Notice the 7 head studs and lack of cylinder bolts down through the cylinder, modified or full race case as well.

Bore measure 84+mm, huge.........

I was trying to figure out what they used for a top end being it has a reed valve setup and the seven stud jug. I wonder how much meat is left in the liner, and what the displacement is?

If it's either one of those cylinders you'll have almost nothing left unless it's been resleeved with a much thicker liner than stock. The stock FL350 bore is 78.5mm and the stock 300R bore is 76mm.....

Well it does have that sticker on the jug from North West sleeve maybe they did put a thicker liner in. This must be close to 400 CC wouldn't you think O_S?

Good grief I'm gonna kill myself on a FL250 chassis. Its only going to be run on a short oval I should be ok just as I don't get too stupid and as long as I keep my hotshoe brother out of it he use to flat track a triumph motorcycle in the 70"s and he ran a late model stockcar in the 80's its the glory days thing you know. Thanks for the measurement there O_S.

You know OMO my sister & brother-inlaw just moved back home from San Antonio Tx. I could have put it on the trailer and stopped off at your place for a race on my way down there to see them. I was looking at your post where you posted the displacement of my motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) but I didn't know that's what it was at the time until O_S posted it. I looked at the numbers and thought what the heck does that mean, I'm a little slow sometimes.

I'm having it shipped to Hoser's shop so he can freshen it up a little, providing its not one of those hand grenade motors.

Ok I received his Engine and started the CSI on it..

I am not impressed with the packing material used its just plastic wrap all balled up, once compressed by the weight of the Engine its hard as a rock... then the Engine rubs a hole in the box in this case the intake manifold did the rubbing and now its damaged.

Just out of the box I can tell at first glance this is not anything close to a FL250 Engine, the crank cases are beefy I suspect they are the Super Cases, it has a Power Bloc clutch, who knows what the cylinder is?
