GAPILOT Hi I never checked them out to be honest-I figured since I have to sandblast and paint I might as well get used-buying new would be silly and a waste of money due to this. |

Update: rollcage is on it's way here, and I do believe I have a trans and a OEM fuel cell as well coming. As soon as the cage gets here it will be fitted on the frame and then sent to the painter. The trans will be re-sealed and a new driven will be installed with new rotor and then placed into the frame after a very good cleaning. The motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) is freshly rebuilt from Hoser with a Speedchaser head and a cr-250 reed stuffer, etc etc. and will be going in as well.I have pretty much everything I need for this project except a fuel cell protector which is discontinued. |

Top rollcage is at the painters currently being repainted.I have been collecting hard to get parts for this project as well during the last couple months, I aquired a brand new OEM fuel cell, plastic guard for the fuel cell, little hard to find covers, switches, etc,all OEM and hard to get indeed.I sent some parts to my powdercoater like the battery box, sterrring column, brackets for fuel lines, etc and should be getting them back this week. I'll include some pictures when I get everything back before installation in the frame.I havent worked on it in sometime as lack of parts and work have kept me very busy-plus the WIGGINS 250R project has been a priority to me personally. |

Trans arrived today it is in great shape but need the cups removed from both sides they are stuck but good.I am going to fab a puller for this tomorrow at a friends shop, I will take some pictures of the fabbed product and removal.Otherwise the trans is in great shape-I am very happy with it indeed.Powdercoated items returned from shop in gloss black look real good. |

I didn't need a camera for the removal of the sutbs as I just used a slide hammer with 5 inch long forks on the end if it, standard MATCO slide hammer I just included a heavy weight on the slide and they came right out, worked really really well for me, and I used no heat-lube-nothing,no fabbing required as the tool sel is readily available at any MATCO store/seller. |

Got some more parts for the project-I installed the trans today after a really good cleaning-heres some pictures.I didn't notice the trans was missing the dowels on it so I couldn't install it today. The rollcage is still at my painters, he is backlogged and honestly I really don't need it anway.I am still in need of a full steering wheel, and some peices for the fuel cell like the plastic gaurd, fuel selector(res/on/off)and the hardware that surrounds it.I bought a brake disc from Hare for it, and I am in process of getting a last order together to go to my powdercoater as wel.Project is slow, but coming along here.I still need a dual air inlet set-up in my COLORADO pilot to finish that up as well.I'll take some updated pictures of the project this week.I also got a right side spindle on the way to finish the front end from GAPILOT(THANKS TO HIM FOR SOME REALLY KICK-ASS PARTS-HE IS A STAND UP GUY and his parts are brand new OEM!!!)SO LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING THE FRONT END DONE FINALLY.

Some pictures of the Project-I took the rear bearing carriers apart today-thank god I did.The pictures show that the skillbilly who installed the bearings did so with a punch or something-the case was pushed in against the bearings as shown-why do people do stuff without the proper tools? The bearings are newer, but after the arse installed them they are junk.STUPID STUPID, kills me, good bearings gone bad-LOL I sent the rear carriers, battery box, rear shock brackets, rear hubs, front backing plates and front brake hubs to a new powdercoater today-expected back in a week tops. Ordered some parts again from RANDY @ odysseysalvage.com today: steering wheel complete 2 front brake lines(rubber new OEM) rear wire harness for trans idiot light rear wire harness for parking brake light driven clutch(new) he has them! rear clip for brake line on frame clip for trans cables to attach to trans 2 new shifter cables(he has them OEM) CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) unit with rubber mount coil with rubber mount fuel cell plastic guard fuel cell mount on frame(near fuel selector) associated hardware for fuel mounting Heres some pictures of the project

Got rear bearing carriers back from the powdercoater, dropped off the front backing plates, front drums, fender brackets front and rear, rear brake line clamp, and some smaller items back for gloss black powdercoating.I am awaiting a order from SERVICE for the carrier bearings and seals, once I get them I can button up the rear end of this Project.I have 2 new complete OEM axles for that as well. I installed the Engine today-heres the list of parts new OEM used: NEW OEM motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) rubbers NEW OEM outside motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) mount rubbers 4 OEM dowels 2 new OEM Engine bolts 2 new OEM bolts All new OEM trans and Engine mounting bolts new coolant lines with new clamps I also installed the new OEM fuel cell, using all new OEM rubber bushings, spacers, nuts, bolts, sleeves.Installed the air box, carb, carb to air box intake with OEM clamps, all new hardware for the tank, new fuel cap,new throttle cable, new drain lines, new pulse line, new fuel lines,CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) unit, radiator, rad fan, harness for shifter light, new OEM fuel sending unit, new OEM pepcock, new OEM fuel filter with rubber mount-way to much to keep going.Pics to follow tomorrow. I am still in need of a steering wheel complete currently. I installed the stock clutch on the crank,I have a powerbloc but want to keep it for my Pilots I ride.I am using this for a looker, not a rider, so performance isn't really as necessary as the 1's I ride in the woods.Plus stock is easier for the newbie to start fresh on if purchased later in life. I installed the old driven after doing the driven mod as per the tech pages.I will replace this driven later, I need to spend the money alotted here on other items, such as powdercoating!!!Had to again place a order at SERVICE for rear bearings for the carriers both sides with seals and front wheel bearings both sides with new seals as well, might as well replace them while they are apart.I will save the old seals for future useage in my other rides as they arent bad at all, some bearings are bad but I can save the 1's that arent bad. |
