Leaving the Pilot rad set up in there, the wire harness has all the wiring for the rad and sensors, and the water pump as well(thanks scpilot), will make bracket like scpilot has on his and mount below the radiator.

Still working with jknarfal on rear trailing arms and bearing carriers as the stock carriers are to wide for the Polaris axles and the bearing carriers as well will not work. He has great ideas for machining new rear arms and carriers that will use a Pilot rear hub, the Polaris axles can utilize them.

Had a thought of having my fab guy weld in rear mounts off a Pilot frame I have here that was bent and trashed by a guy that purchased a Pilot and hit a tree hard some years back, but in that case why not just buy a Pilot and trash the whole project. I want to make it a project that parts can be found and used, other then the custom rear trailing arms and carriers. Hence installing mounts so Pilot parts can be used. But it seems like a time consuming thing to do.

Trans is apart on bench awaiting the shaft being made, I have a customers pilot in the garage, once that leaves hopefully soon I can put this project in on work horses and start the install of wire harness. Been stocking items for the project like cables, etc that will be needed.

Thanks so much for this shaft, opens up a whole new world for conversions.

What's the scoop with the shaft? Made new or modified existing? What cv cups and axles are you using. Perhaps I should sit back and enjoy the build, letting the details flow as they may. This has sure got my attention.

Knarfal's the man!

Is it me or is it sitting on an old arcade game?

The shaft I made from 4140 chromoly. It's identical to the shaft I'm using on my LT617 build. It uses the Polaris ranger shafts. The arcade game is virtua fighter. If you look closely at my build pictures. My odyssey is sitting on a 8' dynamo air hockey table I covered with a sheet of plywood.

Using the shaft pictured and the Polaris CV shafts the stock 350 bearing carriers can not be used, the axles stubs on the end are too short for the bearing carrier or hub, a pilot rear hub will work with them however. Jknarfal is working on designs for new trailing arms and or modifying a new carrier to fit in the stock 350 trailing arms, which is proving to be a real test of skills, looks like a new trailing arm set up may work best for the axles.

Thank to Mark I am, I may need to pick your brain Steve in regards to the harness and fuel sensors if I can in the coming weeks-- I still have the box and wire harness with everything you sent some years back

No problem Sir, just let me know. Have you ever looked in that box? There was a surprise I had sent + a list for each plug.

Very nice work, jk! That shaft is the keystone in the conversion to plug-n-play axles.

I'd say if you were switching to a Polaris axle anyways, you'd want to use something other than the stock carrier & t-arm simply to take advantage of the additional angular travel in the new axles. And then you could go one step further and convert to outboard brakes. Sell you caliper, rotor and stock axles and you can almost pay for your conversion.

Post subject:  Re: Project #5 Kawonda FL350

Yes plug and play. I could cut the shafts to accept several kinds of cv shafts. As long as the male end of the shaft is small enough to leave some material there it can be done. I already checked Honda civic shafts there too big in diameter. The rotor hub I made uses the buell 1125 rotor and utilizes the stock caliper. If one wanted to do outboard brakes then this hub just wouldn't be used.

Very excited about the project Mark has energies my project totally

Project has been progressing, collecting parts and such to go with cv's on rear and a totally radical new rear system as well back there. Last couple weeks has been buying up items for this conversion. What I love about the projected rear suspension is everything is readily made and available, and costs for parts are cheaper without skimming part quality!! Polaris seems to be the parts of choice these days as they are readily made, easily purchased and have great quality! More to come in the coming weeks.

Project is coming along- purchased cv shafts for the rear, associated items for the rear. Have made a decision to remove the Pilot rad and go with the complete system I purchased with ATCDUDE Engine, the system is more compact and I will need that room as I am not going to run the stock OEM fuel cell, I have decided to go with a poly cell tank which will be mounted on the upper roll cages. The rad has sensors in it for fan and temp sensor so I get the specs on them both and see if I wire them into the harness scpilot did for me(that has the Pilot rad sensors wired into it, don't think the difference is much ohms wise) I will be posting more in the future! Jk's shaft is going into my trans as the project proceeds slowly. Move squirrel stuff coming!

After seeing methodicals thermostat assembly he has on his Engine I have asked him if he can fab me the same type for use in my Rand water cooled head, I will use this in the system and have it screw directly into the water cooled head, if needed I will see if methodical can make a port into the top of the head for me to accomplish this- as I stated more to come in the future, we are going fill steam ahead on the project!

I have been so immersed in the fabrication of methodical that i forgot them, will post some pictures soon.
We have taken the pilot rad out for sure and went with the same rad as methodical. It came with my Engine and i can set up the harness to utilize this rads sensors on the pilot wheel with a touch of help, no problem. The pilot rad was too bulky and i am going with aftermarket tank mounted on roll cage bars, no stock one as previously thought.
