I agree and think your correct the double lip is critical in the application. The auction does state the seal is in fact double lipped. I would be curious to see if in fact the dimensions would work?

If you look at the cross section in the picture I only see one lip. The round thing with th cross hairs on it indicate the spring. In my opinion you need to have two lips with springs. Perhaps the photo is not of the actual seal. ??????

I wonder if a guy could find 2 skinny seals and install them side by side?

According to this the cross section is a double lip just not with 2 springs. 2 springs would be nice i think.

In my opinion (and the like a$$holes - everybody has one) if the lip does not have a spring it just a swiper or dustseal.

I finally got a hold of Randy Bridgewater and ordered his seals and bearings. I will see when they come in exactly what seals he is selling. Also see if these can be purchased by other sources as well. I did not ask if it was a spring double lip on it.I am VERY interested in these seals.

I think if you just slap it back together and gob some more silicone on, it should be fine. Maybe if you smear some silicone on the faKe&N it will stop sucking dirt past it?

Yeah because the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) will never leak anything because more = Better :D

Right side bearings(6) came in yesterday.Ordered from the link here in the thread. They are Nissan as discussed.
I had gotten a hold of Randy @ odysseysalvage.com and he is sending me 2 sets of crank bearings and seals. Should be here hopefully Monday.
I placed an order from Powersports from the link listed in this thread (and more then half was discontinued) and that as well arrived yesterday.
In that order was the following:

91201-402-015 oil seal(35x52x7)right case seals (10)
91203-KS6-004 oil seal(30x45x8)oil seal(10)
92900-10045-3B studs(4)
94109-12000 Drain plugs(10)

I tryed to order the left/right crank seals, no good. I will await Randys seals and CSI them to make sure they are double lipped. In speaking to Randy he had mentioned that he was under the impression Honda had issues some seals and bearings out recently-I will see what I get from him if they are OEM or aftermarket. I have spoken to several fellas who have used his seals and bearings with no issues to date.

Good morning sir, what do you mean left/right seals. Are you referring to the right seal only 91203-HE0-003?

Well I still have not received my seals and bearings from Randy after speaking to him 2 times after my order. I am hoping he sends them to my new address and not my old 1. I am very hopeful I get this order!! He has told me he sent me tracking numbers to my email, after giving him the address 2 times I have yet to receieve anything from him to date. Hoser you have the right side bearing already.

Hoser, did you receive the left side bearing and trans to Engine mounting plates and hardware by chance for this project? Both are direct shipped off Ebay to you. I believe you have received the right side crank case seal from that private seller as well already.

Great news!!! Thanks Hoser. So you should have everything for the bottom end minus cases and crank which are at Speed's correct? Or did he ship them already?
I know the cylinder is or has been re sleeved already as they called for my CC over a week ago, that is being shipped direct to you.
There should be as well 2 WRIST PIN BEARINGS shipped directly to you from ROCKY MTN as well. Or did they come with the piston order?
1 of those 81 MM is for the cylinder I need bored Hoser please. That is the ATVR jug/head combo I sent to you. That is for my CA Pilot.
That should do it for the parts list. Please advise me if you need anything else. I am awaiting the left side crank case bearings I ordered STILL for the NITROSPORT Engine rebuild, when they arrive I will ship that box over as well to you sir.

Hoser, I ordered a new 39mm PWK carb today from carbpartswarehouse.com internals are the following:
#6 slide
185 main
EGJ needle
48 slow jet
They are direct shipping to you. Please look for it in about 3-5 days. This replaces the old carb which you installed on the PPE 350 over the weekend.

I have the Engine cases in my parts cleaning tub soaking trying to get the silicone sealer off the cases so I can start hoserizing the cases and then assemble the bottom end.

After washing just the two crank cases and scraping off all the silicone I strained the solvent before dumping it back into its storage container.

Anybody that has rebuild the bottom end on a Pilot knows their are two abnormally long dowel pins on the crank cases who ever rebuilt this Engine last (Silicone homo) used the shorter dowels pins so when he put the cases together they just pushed into the DEEPER dowel holes and ended up flush in the cases where they have been DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING since he put the bottom end together, attention to DETAIL is everything on these engines.

Yeah they were a bitch to get out since they were also silicone in place.

I also removed the BAD dowel for the Engine mounts to the trans

I finished cleaning the cases, hoserized the cases, installed the new crank bearings (Nissan for the mag side SKF for the clutch side) about 5:30 tonight UPS showed up with 2 boxes from Speedchaser have your crankshaft back and cases for the other Pilot Engine getting rebuilt will resume rebuilding this Engine tomorrow.

Refresh me what cylinder were using on this Engine am I installing the cylinder that was sleeved by LA Sleeve?

The newly sleeved cylinder is all stock did you want the cylinder hoserized?

This Engine also has the Pro Design cool head that uses O rings no head gasket I will be using this head?

Thanks.

Back when I was a kid growing up watching my sisters boyfriend and friends build their engines ect., I saw that they would always buy that blue silicone and put a good 1/4" bead across the oil pan, valve cover, ect. I watched it all ooze out the edges. I must have been about 8 yrs old at the time and I would ask them didn't you put too much? They would tell me that that helps seal it even better. (silicone homos) Within a couple of days their vehicles would start leaking every single time. They are still doing the same thing today.

They always say that they tought me everything I know. And I answer that yes they tought me what not to do.

Yes please use the new fresh sleeved jug on the long travel Engine. As well please hoserize that cylinder as well please.
I also believe we agreed to use the same duncan cool head again on the Engine as well. I will have you install a speed head on the nitrosport Engine rebuild.
