Looks like the water pump shaft mechanical seal is discontinued. Part # 19217-PH9-013. I was going t buy another so I would have 2 spares but no luck. I kinda remember this being used on other bikes, but I guess Honda discontinued it anyway.

Anyone know of a replacement?

Looks like all the other bikes are old...

Well found one in the UK. At least I believe it the correct part. I guess I'll see when I get it.

Maybe this will help someone else looking for one.

I have not received it yet? probably another 10 or so days away. Coming royal mail. I do not need it right now so I will just compare to the oem one I have and save for future use. I'll let you guys know how it compares to oem.

I received the seal today, all the way from England. It looks like a great match to the OEM one I have. The only difference I see is the OEM has some letters stamped on it. I have not installed it and hopefully will not need to. I will be putting it in the parts box for future use. I'm glad I bought it. He has more for sale if anyone is interested.

I found OEM Honda ones in the UK and Italy but they cost twice as much.

Any update on this water pump seal? I'm thinking of putting one in if my Engine is apart.

Good day everyone, here are some part #'s for replacement mechanical seals for the pilot.
These are Honda seals and still available I think, I have not tried these or done a serious comparison to the oem seal but I got these #'s from someone that knows what they are talking about and I trust him completely.

19217-MAL-300
19217-657-023

http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/h ... 7-023.html

Take care.

I wonder if Lee can help us here on what the difference was and why Honda had a different part number for the Pilot part?

(reference and search words) The FL400 Pilot water pump seal part number is 19217-PA5-003

Thanks for the info Steve.

i have sourced some of these mechanical seals. i had the company make me 15 of them. i believe that the lead time is 3 months as they are being made for me from a company in japan. if they sell well, i will carry them from now on. even if they don't sell well, ill keep a couple on the shelf.

I don't think this is a rare mechanical seal. It fits many other models still in production.
Example: Part #19217-MAL-300 also fits a 2016 CFR450x.
