He said they are discontinued "you will never see them again, once Honda says discontinued they are gone for ever"
along with a bunch of smart ass punk remarks, he knows nothing, sells parts for a year and is a expurt, was running his mouth when he should have been listening, typical new generation work force....

Typical of anyone under 30 now-a-days.

It's amazing how many kids think the company is there for THEM and OWES them respect and benefits just for working there.

Some day he will understand I don't work for him, I don't need him, he needs me, he works for me. too bad the owners of hillside honda no longer see ANY of my money because of him....

FYI on 6-29-08 I ordered parts including front left fenders the next day they sent me a email

The left front fenders have been discontinued. Please let me know if you'd like to continue with the rest of your order.

I reordered now they are here :-)

Yeah, I think I've ordered them more than a dozen times in the last year.

Hopefully mine will show up in the next day or so.

Hoser, sorry to say but the main problem is that by the time you see that a part has been discontinued it is usually far too late to reverse or delay the decision. When a part comes up to be discontinued it is probably because the demand has not been sufficient to support a re-order, materials are no longer available or new molds/dies are needed due to wear, breakage or supplier changes.

The thousands, or hundreds of thousands, of dollars that the new molds/dies cost must be justified by future sales projections. Additionally, production, transportation and warehousing costs must not only be covered but be a business benefit in comparison to all the other parts that could be taking that space.

Order activity while the part is active is what will extend it’s life. Mass orders after a decision is made to discontinue is unlikely to have any effect. Remember that to the people making these decisions, it’s not a fender for your favorite toy, it’s just another of almost a million part numbers that they deal with on a daily basis. BTW, Honda was not motivated to make 400 more fenders; it took personal awareness, intervention and over 7 months.

And to those who worry about my identity and info source, the answer is easy……just don’t believe a word I say. But remember; don’t try to order any fenders because they are discontinued!

So what is the status on the Pilot transmission center gasket?

Hoser - The 21195-HE0-P00 case gasket you asked about was discontinued (and last stock depleted) last May. there has only been a 5-10 piece annual demand for at least the last 5+ years. Just not enough for reorders.

Thanks for the info, so how do we find out what small parts like this have a low demand so we can notify the Pilot Odyssey community to pump up the sales, had I known the trans gasket sales demand was low I would have post here and I bet each member would have ordered at least one gasket, I would have ordered 6, I have 2 Engine gasket sets guess I should order a few more but what else?

That's the '89 Gas cap.

The '90 Gas cap is still available and works fine on the '89's. (17620-HE0-671) $75.57.

Several of the fuel lines in and around the filter and pump are discontinued as well.
