Maybe a dumb question but you have the seal dimensions why would you not just go to a bearing / seal supplier and buy the seal ?

I'm pretty sure you can buy both seals off the shelf - you are correct the oem seal has the metal shield. I went throught this when i rebuiilt my tranny. I was lucky to find the oem seals I have from a few different dealers. The metal shield is not critical but I wanted to keep the oem on mine. You may remember I also had a hard time finding the 14mm wide bearing for the input shaft.

here a great source in the UK for bearing/seals etc who will ship overseas, may get you out of trouble in the future.

I also still have a source for the OEM transmission primary input shaft bearings and seals, how many he has left i don't know. I've got all my future gearbox spares now to hopefuly keep me going for another 20 years.

If anybody is having trouble getting discontinued parts let me know and i will gladly ask everybody over here if they have it on the shelf.
