Good luck with that 1. Going to have to find a seal that matches the size 35X57X9.

Has anyone tried one of these yet?? I have the axle out and am in the process of fabricating a stub puller (slide hammer). Unless someone offers up an OEM seal, I'll have no choice but to order one and give it a try.

Why not just fab up your own round metal shield, and glue it on?

Not a bad idea. My guess is that the metal shield is for structural integrity and helps better protect the seal from dirt/mud. I'm sure it keeps larger crud (small rocks) that get wedged in between the inner axle stub and the trans seal from grinding away at the seal. It also helps in the removal of the seal as it gives more of an area to work with if you are using the "metal screw" technique to remove it.

I will have to see if I can build a shield that will remain in place and not do more potential harm than good.

I will snap pics of my old seal (installed) before I remove it. Not sure what condition it will be in after I get it out.

Anyone have a pic of a new one?

I have one of the seals from Stoneman, the markings on the seal are SOG 103819 35 57 9. I installed one several months ago and so far all is well.

I am pretty sure the seals came from this guy on Ebay ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/35X57X9-TZ-35-57-9-103819-35X57X9TZ-SOG-OIL-SEAL-SEALS-/150743407278?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item231901daae)

In his listing on Ebay he notes a stock photo is being used, the seals from Stoneman do have a metal outer cover like the OEM

As stated before the photo is generic.

Here are a couple pics of the seals. Maybe this will help. Wish I had a old seal. Bet the seal is actually 2 pieces maybe?
