If this is real I want to order 4 of these. Anybody done business partsdiscounter? Feedback looks good but the too good to be true thing comes to mind... A pro x piston cost more than all of this.

I haven't done business with them but I've seen plenty of cheap top-end rebuild kits on ebay. I'm looking at one of them for an old 1986 TRX70 that I just had unloaded on me. I believe the whole top-end was something like $65. Seemed too good to be true, but then again, I've found the carb for the TRX70 for $25 new on ebay. So who knows?

Let us know how it turns out if you take the plunge and buy one (or four).

Would have to assume its all just cheap china copies the seller is selling all kinds of knock off looking parts.

I would look for comments about the seller or the kit I did a search for Niche-1240 didnt find much.

Wow that is really cheap. Could be a bunch of blems or something that were bought out. 45$ including the cylinder is a great deal but I wouldn't expect it to last

That certainly is a deal but ya know its gonna be China garbage... My daughter raced lt80 a few years before moving up to drr/apex machines... My honest opinion is spend the money and get used Suzuki cylinder (if ya need one) and a pro x piston. Guy in Florida on eBay sells cylinder with piston bored edges chamfered and ready to g on eBay as well for about $120 if I remember correctly. She got 3 seasons out of her last Engine and that's with tons of mods (head milled, clutching, porting etc) the LTS are bulletproof so I'd spend the few extra bucks and buy decent parts and it'll last a long time before needing rebuilt. If ya have any question or need some tips on them on me.... Betting I've built or restored over a dozen of them and know all the tricks. I have bought the China carbs before brand new for $65 ,just to try one, and they work perfect.

I've got two LT 80's and both OEM cylinders need bored. Not really doing much with them right now. More than likely will build 1 out of the two machines. Nephews are too young for them now. Just keep an eye out for a good deal on stuff for the future. Just picked up zinger 3 for the youngest last Sunday. Younger 2 are still to young for those. Found a used front fender for the blue one. They're getting fresh paint now. Just made a big order of parts for those. All I need to find is 6 new or nice used tires(having trouble). Rest is in the mail. Decal kits, seat covers, oem grips for the yellow one, air filters, 1 used airbox, and 2 of the milossi "big bore" lol! topend kits(they're supposed to be Italian made and the same price as the partsdiscounter ones. Supposed to have 3 smaller exhaust ports instead of the single one which I think is a better design(should allow for more flow).

What would I need to look out for with a Chinese knock off kit? Maybe I should order one to see what's to it. That's dirt cheap.

Ps: Here's the zingers
Will post pic when they're all finished.

Love the zingers!! Melossi is good quality stuff, I've ran their cylinders before on the drr quads. My concerns with Lt China stuff would he quality of piston. Not only for longevity but you also could drop a chunk of it into the bottom end and cause more problems than the money you have saved. Also is the cylinder sized for the piston they send you? I'm betting not, and u may need to hone to fit anyhow. I've had awesome luck with pro x pistons for the Lt so I'd buy a piston have ur stock bored and you know you'll be OK... If your cylinder was junk I could see maybe trying one out, but if it just needs bored I'd buy a piston and be done with it. While you have it apart get a banshee petcock ($15) and remove the vacume one that's on it....they do.nothing but cause problems, leak and fill bottom end full of gas. :)

Where do you recommend I go to get something this small bored? I talked to that Jack Moore guy and he said I send him the entire Engine and for $750ouch! plus shipping he would do his thing to it. Clutch mods, carb bore, porting, bore and piston prep(he supply's topend stuff), shave the head, install a new bearings seals and crank(ive gotta send, already got oem bearings and seals, need crank) and full assembly. He claims 12.5 or 13.5hp(can't remember) but that might get the kids hurt. Don't want to do that. Also need a pipe for this setup. Cost really gets out of hand.i'll definitely do the banshee petcock. I've heard that before to.

Yes jack mr lt80 himself... He is the god of them, but in no way would I never spend that kind of money on an air cooled lt80, when in reality they can't compete with a bone stock drr or apex. Back in the day before The long travel water cooled machines came out that was your only option, but the most highly built lt80 couldn't come close on a track to a stock drr.. Been there done it! You can buy a nice used drr for maybe 1300-1500 and will weelie and haul an adult as fast as u wanna go and parts are cheap and the modifications are endless. I use my local Suzuki shop to bore for me.. If I bring in the piston they'll bore and size it for $30. New base gasket and reuse the head gasket on them is fine. Any machine shop will mill the head.....takes a couple mins and will only charge ya less than $20. I mill mine 25 thousands....u can go up to 30 safely, but I've had the best luck with 25 taken off. That will jump your compression up a ton and really wake the thing up... Use stock pipe and take bolt out of silencer. don't waste money on an aftermarket..they only make a lot of noise and no power gains... Change your sprockets from the 520 to the 420 like the 87 and 88 LTS had... They're a lot lighter and use a #40 chain from tractor supply. Once u change them you can litterally roll the quad with a couple fingers.. Makes them way quicker. Chain and sprockets both..less then $50 good thing about the #40 chain is u can get half links to take out the slack in the chain as they don't have chain tensioners and they wear the sprockets out prematurely and that chain is very light. We've never broke one either as it moves with Engine and isn't under stress like a normal setup. Take 2 rollers out of front clutch. Remove rear shoes and cut off end of all three shoes.and wiegh them...take them down to 180 grams. That'll rraise the stall and make it take off like a rocket ;)

Wow thanks for the info. I've never heard of a DDR or apex quad. This won't be for racing. Just to rip around at grandma and grampa's house. I would like to keep the cost down on the Engine. Still want to put a new crank, bearings, and seals in it. Zingers will be done before Christmas. Then into this one. Will take my time with it. Gonna cost some bucks. Want to powder coat the frame with a title and do the cosmetic stuff. Needs all new plastics($400), hood with headlight($100), wheels($210) plus tires, seat cover. Lots of stuff but I know how to make stuff look good. It'll be worth it. Papa will help make it run good, I'll make it look good.

Yes DDR, drr, and apex are wicked wicked race quads, the only reason I'd even mention them is if your gonna spend almost a grand on a lt80 Engine...don't...they're way under suspended and can't handle a lot more power safely.... The mods I mentioned will make start easier, run a lot better and have a lot more power. Buy yourself some wheel spacers 4" up front and 3" in the rear...helps them a lot. Stick with the 18 or 19" tire up front and run 16" Carlisle snow hogs in the rear....they're cheap and are similar to itp holeshots......they work fantastic and are shorter and take off a lot better... With those tires, clutch mods and head milled....it will.weelie under power ;)

Keep your eye on craigslist also..I find them weekly around here for.a few hundred bucks..and you may find one with really nice plastic on it cheaper than uncsn buy new for... I buy them up here and there...completely go over and mod them and sell them. Have a list of people that will buy them soon as I do one... I have had a blast doing them over the years, but the pilots are taken over my lt80 side business...lol
