Up for sale is an 1989 Honda Pilot FL400. I bought this back in 1996 for my wife. I stripped it down to the frame for a full rebuild in 2006. The following is a description of what was done:
Powder Coated Red: Frame and roll cage
Powder Coated Black: Front spindles, backing plates, hubs/drums, steering column, steering wheel, coil/CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) bracket, net brackets, battery box, driven pulley, rear knuckles, rear caliper/bracket, seat pan, skid plate, rear hubs, and the fender brackets.
Powder Coated Blue: All four shock springs.
Chrome Plated: Front upper and lower a-arms, rear upper a-arms, all 6 rear links, Engine brackets, rear shock brackets and other miscellaneous pieces.
Front Suspension: Aftermarket (ATV Racing) adjustable chrome moly upper a-arms, new bushings/seals, tie rods, tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearings and seals.
Rear Suspension: Aftermarket (ATV Racing) adjustable chrome moly lower links and radius arms, new bushings/seals, ball joints, CV axle boots, gearbox/axle seals, wheel bearings and seals.
Brakes: Aftermarket (EBC) rotor, new pads & shoes, aftermarket (Galfer) steel braided lines front/rear, rebuilt front/rear master cylinders.
Engine: All stock other than a K&N air filter, Outerwear pre-filter and an ATV Racing ceramic coated pipe/silencer, new fuel pump and filter.
New Douglas Red Label .190 wheels. The rear tires are a special cut that Daryl Smith Sand Tires came up with for pilots.
90% of the hardware has been replaced with stainless steel.

There is quite a few others bits and pieces that I replaced during the rebuild. I have a binder with over $4000 in receipts just for parts. It has never let us down and is very reliable. We have never used it in rocky or wet conditions. It's only been used in the sand and stored in our garage so it is super clean. Other than the foot tub, all of the bodywork is original. For its age the rest of the bodywork is in good condition. Included with the sale are the stock parts, some spare parts, owner's manual, service manual and the stock wheels with some all-terrain tires on them. I have the title and the registration is good until June 2014. I'm located in North San Diego County. Price is $7,000

I see you made the same mistake as a lot of other rookies and installed one of them cheap ass low quality non proper fitting stainless steel bolt kits on your Pilot do you still have the OEM bolts I would like to buy them so when I get these Pilots in my shop I can replace these inferior bolts with the proper bolting.

IMO the stainless bolt kit removes about 700.00 in value of a Pilot..

BUYER BEWARE those stainless bolts might look sexy and all bling bling but they are SHIT I have had several encounters (hand on experience) with these bolts they are not even close to the quality and design of the OEM bolts you be a fool to buy this Pilot unless it came with ALL the OEM bolts.

So tell us better yet show us how you install the bling bling bolts that hold all the plastic on the Pilot frame without squishing the shit out of the plastic, remove some of the bolts take pictures and show us how you pulled this off?

Anybody need pictures of these bolts next to the OEM bolts showing how the head of the bling bling bolts has 1/2 the surface area of the OEM bolts and how the washers that come with the bolts to cure this small head problem is not even close to fitting the heads of the bolts they intend you to use them on further compounding the problem.

Sorry for the rant but the stupidity of these stainless bolts needs to STOP so all you morons looking to pimp up your Pilot with junk are going to hear about how stupid you are when you installed bolts that undoes the quality engineering Honda built into these machines, I mean just how stupid does someone get when they install bolts of 1/3 the quality?

Also sorry you were suckered by the bling addiction.

Wait until it's ridden in mud.... Then try getting an allen wrench in to remove the bolts... Have fun scraping the mud out.

How do you chrome plate ball joints and maintain the integrity of the ball joint (remove the grease for plating, keep all the chemicals out of the ball joint then re-grease the ball joint assembly)

Centerline of the tires (red lines) is suppose to be centered over the ball joints (blue lines) so you don't create steering problems and horrible feed back.
