Buyer Beware that cylinder has NOT BEEN PORTED regardless what the picture says.

Honest mistake maybe I guess he could have bought it and someone told him it was ported, but its NOT.

If you read the description is says nothing about being ported but its hand written in one of the pictures "Race Ported"

Buyer Beware that cylinder has NOT BEEN PORTED regardless what the picture says.

The more I look at the pictures the more the gasket surfaces appear they have been sand blasted...

Sandblasted the gasket surfaces??? That sounds like a really bad idea. Would it still be useable after something like that or would it be prone to leaking? Could it be machined flat again? This thing seems to have sour deal written all over it. If it was water cooled, race ported, NOT sandblasted, and had a lot of bores left IMO wouldn't be a bad deal. Cheaper than producing it.
Jug-$100
Water jacket-200
Porting-300
Re Sleeve your old jug- a lot(I think in the $300 range)

But with the seller being ignorant/misinformed or just plain lying I'd avoid it at all cost.
I'm glad this info got posted before someone on here got stuck with it.

Still trying to figure out why or how he is entitled to use the name "Hillside Honda" to sell the cylinder, does he have a Hillside Honda advertisement that shows a picture of a 350 cylinder Hillside Honda use to sell that was modified and this looks like one, they have their name carved on it some place????

Looks more like someone trying to ride someone else coat tails and using their name, I need to see something creditable before the Hillside Honda name would carry any weight.

What I can see in the picture I see nothing special you can take the cylinder to anybody that can weld aluminum and have them weld it up like you see, you can easily cut up and fit the pieces for welding before taking it to the welder.

I don't see how just that small of an area of the cylinder which is water cooled is going to do that much good. The cooling band is located in the hottest part of the cylinder but I personally would try and water jacket as much of the cylinder as possible.

I find it hard to believe this is a Hillside Honda cylinder. You would think that a much better job would have been done.

I actually have a cylinder that I am contemplating having some mild port work done on that I would like to have water cooled.

Who is handy welding aluminum.....Ha Ha :-) .

I am looking at a new welder so I can weld aluminum actually my son is a good aluminum welder.

Most the heat in the cylinder is from the exhaust port and above the heat goes out the exhaust port, some heat from the piston and rings transferred to the cylinder wall below the exhaust port.

Look at a Pilot cylinder it does not even have cooling fins down at the transfer level like this 350 cylinder.
Most LC 350 cylinders they go down one more cooling fin?

The cylinder I was thinking of belonged to Jim327. He had three of his fins ground out and a band welded around the cylinder. Very nice job.

This is what I want to do to my cylinder.
