 Post subject: brake master cylinder

im looking for a master cylinder for a fl350 theres one on ebay for 250 i think that kinda steep. i bought a rebuild kit but broke the lid screws and cant get the plungers out. now im stuck with kit and bad housing, can anybody help me

how bad are the screws broke off? i drillednout one of mine and used larger screws.

the screws are no big deal its the plungers. this thing has been sitting for a long time. what a nitemare. do you just pull the plungers out after the snap rings are out

Once you take the dust caps off, there is a snap ring in there. it takes a bit of work to get that out (or at least in my experience) since the snap ring pliers i have don't fit down in there well at all. Keep in mind, the snap ring expands out, into a notch on the case of the master cylinder itself. Once that snap ring is out, the plungers should just pull out. If you have a rebuild kit, i wouldn't be afraid to grab onto the metal ends of them with pliers or vice grips and yank em out since you don't need to re-use the seals.

i broke mine off to i had a stripped bolt kit i hammered the num.5 tool over it and it grabbeb it and backed it out coreykandi@aol.com if you need a pic of tool i used
