Thanks, Randy

60 bux for a 12.00 ball joint?

Why not just take a old one to a quality parts dealer and have it matched up save 100 bux no doubt that is what the current seller is doing.

Bet it fits a Honda automobile.

LEE can probably give you most if not all the dimensions off the prints maybe even match it up for you in the Honda system?

Then you could become the ebay whore selling them lol

You can see in the photo that they have been turned down. better put some ant seize on that bare metal when you install those ball joints.

That might be why so much then, but since its modified their is a good chance its a 6.00 off the shelf part available about anywhere.

If I had one out I would take to a few quality auto parts stores see if they can measure and match it up, all the ball joints I have are currently installed.

Where is DC he has auto parts connections :-)

I checked my parts bin and you can get just a boot from lone star racing for $7.00 each

Part number is 21P00512 - comes with the spring cir-clips

I was told about them in this link from davidafco....

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8568&start=75" ."..

scroll to march 28th 2011 in the thread.

These are for the front but I believe they could be used on the rear ball joint.

I have some of the ball joints from EBAY, but have never installed them. They are a standard ball joint that have been cut down (but I don't know for what application). Since I don't have a lathe or access to one I thought they were a pretty decent deal considering they should last a long time.

When I replaced just the ball joint boots I used the following Honda (automotive) part # 53546-611-310 . I used them on the front and rear ball joints.

These boots are not exactly like the Pilot boot, they are made to be held on with a clip, where the pilot boot presses on kind of like an oil seal. I glued mine on and never had a problem. Aussiehoon has the pilot I glued the boots on back in 2004. Maybe he can take a few photos of the boots on his pilot. To my knowledge they have never come loose in the 9 years since I installed them.

There were pictures on the forum, but I suppose all were wiped out in the hackinga few years back

I measured the front a arm ball joint boot and rear ball joint diameter of the boot. The front looks to be about 1/8 larger. It was dark in the garage when I measured but just eyeballin, it looks bigger...??

I remember the rear was smaller, but it seemed there were two sealing surfaces that the boot could be attached to. Been too long to recall exactly.

The best picture I could find is attached, maybe Aussiehoon can take a better one

You can still get ball joint boots from Ricky Stator, I think I paid $15 for 8 or 10 including shipping, they did not have the spring clip but I was able to reuse, also as mentioned in another topic, super glue seems to work well as long as you can keep all the surfaces clean which is a trick if you grease before it's installed.
