http://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-Honda-Pilo ... Sand_Rails

someone who has been taken by ATVRaping, adding up totals of what they invested into their pilot, and expecting to get it back out of it. No way would I pay 8g for this thing. Doesn't even have a roof panel. Ad also says PWK carb, but pic shows a stock one. Hmm...

Hope it isn't someone on here

"Every Nut and Bolt Replaced with Stainless Steel Bolts- ($275)" Haha he bought the bling bling bolt kit that DOES NOT FIT CORRECTLY.
Someone send him a msg ask him how much he wants for the original bolts and all his other OEM parts he removed and replaced..

So he spent 10k on the Pilot and didnt even get the LT suspension

$14,086.95 investment into a Pilot Sure looks pretty setting their.

Looks like ATVR at least did NOT shave the head on this one. Index tab is plainly visible and looks to be nice & thick.

Reed cage looks a bit odd...like it's not the right shape for a 1989 model. However, I could be wrong there.

Also looks like their new "K&N High Flow Air Desert Kit- ($109.95)" consists of just cutting a big hole in the back of the airbox...

If you zoom-in on the rear view picture, you can see the wires and bolts/nuts were painted red. Looks like a poorly done rattle can job.

Machine looks badass but no way would I fork out that much money for a machine whose parts are made out of unobtainium. If parts were readily available, and for a decent price, I would not hesitate to buy another Pilot. But as it is, I think the one I have will be my only one. I'm going to see what the side-by-side market does over the next couple years. Maybe someone will come out with a high performance single-seater. Or maybe I'll just pick up a lightly used RZR XP1K that someone dumped thousands of dollars into. You never get back what you put in when it comes to aftermarket parts.

Now see, I thought of this as well. For the most part, who sells their RZR 1000's? I would say people who can't afford to keep them. They don't sell because they don't like it, they sell because they have to get rid of a payment they never should have had in the first place. Thinking of that, what sort of person do you think that will be? Someone who will be smart about their investment and break it in correct, maintain it correct, and not abuse it? Or someone who will hop in the driver seat of a brand new machine and hammer the gas pedal, not break it in, not maintain it, and abuse it greatly, then wash it before they try to dump it?

As for myself, I have plans to eventually own a RZR 1000 OR equivalent UTV (depending on how the market changes by the time I am ready to buy). When the time comes, there is no freaking way I am going to buy a used one. People lie, cover up damage, and are dishonest and the way I see it, I would rather have a 100% stock and brand new machine VS saving a few grand and getting a used one that has upgrades I don't need or want, and who knows what abuse it has been through. I guess it is a crap shoot I am not willing to take. (But listen to me now VS a few months from now...I will end up with a used one LOL!!!!!!!)

Now a Pilot is a totally different story. Obviously because they are discontinued. I just really see the majority of RZR or any other SXS owners abusing their machines. Sucks.

Nick I agree with you on buying used when you have the option to buy new. Don't do it. Utility 4 wheelers are the same thing. Everyone thinks they're the king of the mud hole when they have a 4x4. Once they've been sunk i'd want nothing to do with it. I guess I would buy a used one off my dad but that's absolutely it. I know it's the same as brand new.

As for this pilot I think it looks like he did a very nice job on it. 8k is just too much money for any pilot. Appears his reserve is even higher.

The XP1K's just came out this year so the only people selling them now probably cannot afford them. However that will change in a couple years when another bigger and better model comes out. Some people also get rid of their rides because they just have to have the latest and greatest. It's kind of a sickness or something...LOL. They spend tons of money on aftermarket bling, cause they happen to have tons of money, and as soon as the next great thing comes out, they dump what they have and start in on their next money pit. I hope to find one of those in a couple years or so. But who knows? If I had a spare $20K worth of pocket change, maybe I'd buy a new one.
