PAYMENT:
PAYPAL or SNAIL-MAIL non-cash payment. PM me for details.

SHIPPING:
- All parts will ship via USPS Priority SMALL Flat Rate service. Tracking will be provided (and I can/will add your email address to the tracking).
- If you prefer to send me a pre-paid shipper (maybe you get a better deal than me, or you can scam your work's shipping account, lol), please send me a PDF of the shipper.
- Parts will ship as soon as payment is cleared into my Paypal or checking account (mailed pmt).

RUBBER CARB FLANGES:
As for the rubber boots and pricing, I cannot get a better price than what's out there. Best prices are on evilBay for the M-VM-34-200K & I-VM34-200-1 -and- M-VM-36-200K & I-VM36-200-1 flanges at $19.99-$21 including shipping. For running 30-34mm carbs, you need the VM34 flange. For 36-39mm carbs, you need the VM36. MAKE SURE THE BOLT SPACING IS EITHER 60MM (2.36" OR 2-3/8") FOR THE VM34 FLANGE, AND/OR 70MM (2.756" OR 2-3/4"). THERE ARE SOME OUT THERE THAT CLAIM TO X-REF TO THE MIKUNI PART NUMBERS, BUT HAVE A 74.6MM BOLT SPACING (2-15/16"), AND WILL NOT FIT THE MANIFOLD. Also, if you want the genuine Mikuni-brand ones, you need to make sure the seller is really selling the Mikuni-branded ones as depicted, not a non-Mikuni equivalent or x-ref. If you aren't sure what boot is for your carb, you can get your carb's dimensions on Sudco's website and Mikuni boot dimensions online or in my "For Sale" thread. If you reeeeeeally wanted to save yourself $20, you could just buy the VM36 boot and then use some rubber insulator tape on your 30-34mm carb outlet OD so it fits snug in the boot. Not recommended, but could work. I cannot find any of the cheaper snowmobile-application-specific flanges that x-ref directly to the 60mm and 70mm spaced flanges. Most are made by Kimpex and have the 74.6mm spacing. I have personally verified that the M-VM-34-200K flange is right for the PE32 & TM34, and that the M-VM-36-200K flange fits the PJ36, TM38 (Zilla), TM38Pro, PWK39, and PWK39 Airstryker.

- I bought my VM34 flange from evilBay seller "jwes148" and the fit is per Mikuni-spec, but it is NOT a Mikuni-branded part and comes with a cheaper worm-gear clamp.
- I bought my VM36 flange from evilBay seller "atvunlimited" and the fit is Mikuni-spec, but it is NOT a Mikuni-branded part and comes with a cheaper worm-gear clamp.

INSTALLATION:
Installation is pretty self-explanatory. Note that the factory airbox, down-tube, and carb are kind of a pain to install already, so do not blame it on my manifold, lol. I like to assemble in this order...the intake & rubber flange to the cylinder, then connect the airbox / down-tube / carb as a separate assembly, and then slide the whole thing onto the carb flange/boot, tighten the carb boot clamp, and then tighten the two airbox mounting bolts. Make sure the carb isn't rotated off center. The rubber flange and down-tube is easier to manipulate after you run some warm water over them, and the boots fit/slide easier with some silicone spray lube or WD40. Make sure you use good reed cage and intake gaskets and that your reed cage gasket surfaces are clean. Verify carb jetting with a plug-chop. Check the opening of your reed cage versus the intake gasket window opening, as you may need to trim the opening larger. THE INTAKE WITH VM34 BOOT WILL FIT YOUR STOCK SETUP INCLUDING PE32 CARB, AIRBOX AND DOWN-TUBE. NO CHANGES REQUIRED. *USING LARGER CARBS WILL REQUIRE SOME TYPE OF DIFFERENT DOWN-TUBE SINCE THE OUTLET END IS DESIGNED TO FIT THE PE32 CARB ONLY AND TOO SMALL FOR THE LARGER CARBS. THERE ARE SOME OFF-THE-SHELF PLUMBING PARTS THAT YOU CAN USE WITHOUT MOLESTING YOUR STOCK PARTS. OR YOU CAN USE AN AIR FILTER STACK KIT. THE INTAKE ALLOWS THE LARGER CARBS TO CLEAR THE TRANSMISSION-TO-ENGINE LINK.

I hope having these made will keep a few more FL350 engines on the trail and out of the scrap pile.

THANK YOU!

-Dan A.

Dan, can you elaborate on the following statement.....

"requires a non-destructive mod to the inlet tube and lower airbox."

What actually has to be done to run a 38mm Mikuni?

Thanks, Rand

Recipe includes....

(1) 2" rubber drain elbow
(1) 2" PVC coupler
(1) 2" PVC pipe

Coupler is cut in half (length) and fits very snuggly into the bottom port of the stock airbox. You could use glue, or not. It fits tight indeed.

I'll get more pics and part #'s of the EXACT parts in the coming day(s). :-)

Might even need a 3/16" washer/spacer for between the airbox and trans bracket at the box mounting holes. The rubber elbow I used does make contact with the trans. and wants to try to lift up a tad.

Pic from the Projects page...

This fit well, but snug indeed. A little messy on the carb end in the pic, but didn't really stop and situate it for the pic. That carb shown is a PWK39 Air Stryker.

Anyone else interested in an fl350 intake plate? Only about a half-dozen have been claimed. What doesn't sell to PO.com members will only be sold on evilBay at a higher price. Let me know. $99 + s/h.

Will have the very first part ready Wednesday. On my lunch break, I'm stopping over there with a cylinder, reed cage, and both-sized carb boots to make sure everything fits before they make the other 24. :-)

Chips are flying! Should have most of them tomorrow with maybe a few on Monday to complete the order. :-)

As soon as I have a part in my hand, I will post some pics.

Just stopped at the machine shop to look at the parts and give the 'ok' to make the next 24. Here's a sneak peek (see pics). They look beautiful!!!

Will have a couple to bolt on and run this weekend, and the rest on Monday afternoon. Had to play with the round hole-to-backside transition a bit to make it even smoother, so won't have 'em all today. Even the tool cut-path is in the direction of flow. Details, details! :-)

Also, we may be able to do a group-buy for the rubber carb flanges. I've now got a contact at the place who is supplying most of the sellers on evilBay.

Got (10) done today. Great looking parts, IMHO. :-) :-)

I've only got the "big carb" flange right now, as the "small carb" flange should be sitting on my front porch right now.

I'm going to install one tonight with the stock carb and run the buggy tomorrow at my dad's farm. More pics and some trail results to come. I don't expect it to add power or anything, just gonna' trail prove it.

The manifold's hole ID:
1. The parts are made with a 36mm opening. Did this to accommodate up to a 36mm carb ID port match. So if you want to run 38-39mm, you will need to do some very light dremel work to port match the opening to the carb. Figure majority would simply want to run a stock carb or up to 36mm, and a minority would run the big gun.
2. The opening size is also related to the machine-bility of the circle-to-rectangle transition. I didn't want to make the exit rectangle too big because I want there to be a little meat on the bone to allow port matching to a few different reed cages and stuffers. On my "G-Force" Engine, I'm planning on running the CR250 reed cage with the center flow fin along with this intake.

Again, price is $99 + shipping, includes (2) bolts. Rubber flange sold separately. Flange # VM34-200K should accommodate 32-34mm carbs, and # VM36-200K flange should accommodate the 36-39mm carbs, Keihin or Mikuni. Verify the flange size versus your carb dimensions, as the dimensions for most of the populous carbs can be found on Sudco's website.

- Dan A.

And some more pics...and more info...

Regarding carb fitment:
- Small flange (VM34-200K): Mikuni TM34, and Keihin PE32 (stock FL350)
- Big flange (VM36-200k): Mikuni TM38, TM38 Pro; Keihin PWK39, PWK39 A/S, PJ36

Also, regarding installation...
- For the 10mm intake bolts (bolt the intake and reed cage to Engine), there is clearance for the 10mm socket to fit in there nicely

- For the M8 bolts for the flange, they have to be installed with the clamp off

- For those who aren't familiar with the Mikuni carb flanges, there is a raised seal ring on the flat side concentric to the thru hole. Aka: its seals really good against the smooth 6061 intake plate.

Hey Dan,

With that Big old 38mm Mikuni in the manifold, will the transmission mounting bracket clear the carb bowl?

Not sure, would have to check.

I looked at 7075 & 6061, but for the application the 6061 was plenty strong. 7075 does have like 30-50% more tensile and yield strength, but that's probably 80-90% more than needed for the intake, lol. I think 7075 has like a 7-10% weight penalty, too. The machine shop also had the exact size 6061-T6 bar in stock and ready.

I also looked into hard-coat anodizing, but its not possible at a price of $99. The surface finish also has to be damn near polished for a good anodized hard coat, too. Not cheap. Even checked into doing some clear anodizing in my home shop, but the chemicals required...I just don't want that stuff around my family & pets. Its nasty-nasty stuff. So its something I'll always leave to the pro's.

Indeed it will. The trans mount has clearance all the way up to the top of the choke on the MIkuni TM38 carb.

There is a TON of meat on that carb outlet, too. I know a lot of the LT500R 'Zilla guys will turn the ID out to 41-42mm on these without issue.

Ran the buggy around the yard and up & down the road with the new intake, and no issues whatsoever. Starts easy and idles perfect at 1750rpm. New part is field-tested.

I will def need to go up a main jet size or two with the new intake and the CR250 reed cage. Running a 145 now, but the next size I have on hand is a 160 (too big unless I want to fog mosquitoes!). Will be at HondaEast-Toledo Tuesday and will pick up more Keihin jets. She'll rev fine until 3/4 throttle, hits a 'flat' barrier, and the EGT starts to climb into 4-digit territory (aka: LEAN). She's thirsty!!

*********For those who contacted me one way or another about buying a FL350 intake, I will be contacting you this weekend regarding payment methods & shipping. Payment via Paypal. Buyer will have to pay any Paypal fees (my account never charges me to send a friend/relative money).*********

If you haven't contact me and want one, please PM, email, or post. Email is danauxter2 (at) Yahoo (dot) com.

Price is $99 + $5.25 shipping = $104.25.
The intake & packing will fit in a USPS Small Flat Rate safely, so shipping will be $5.25 for shipping ONE or TWO intakes to the lower 48-states. Each set includes intake & (2) flange bolts.

I will be putting a couple on evilBay this week to catch the holiday shoppers, but not all of them.

:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
