I would say $4500 for a good clean pilot is a good price, you might find it for less, maybe willing to pay more. $6000 seems too high for this but you have aftermarket shocks add ? $500, extra pipe you might be able to sell for $200? nerf bars and front bumper, if they have value to you then $300?
You will have no idea what condition the Engine is in, even if the compression is good unless he has receipts for a complete rebuild the bearings could be 25 years old.

When someone tells you it will do 75 mph no problem you have to wonder what other BS he is telling you.
you asked for my opinion, if it were me I'd think more in the $4K area provided the Engine and trans are in good condition, you do not want to pay top $ for a money pit.
I'm sure if you are willing to spend $6000 for a pilot there may be someone on this site with a reliable machine that they may be willing to part with, Mud?

I really appreciate your thoughts, I think it's a bit much. It's a little out of my budget at a asking price and I would like a documented rebuild for reliability. Thanks.

He have any of the stock stuff with it like the rims and tires, seat, exhaust, etc.

It has the after market seat installed so if your 6' tall its going to be a tight fit, is their a heat shield for the seat, what about a skid plate?

Some one gave him a line of shit about the radiator relocate even fully modified Pilots NEVER over heat with the radiator in the stock location, moving the radiator makes access to the carb easier but also raises the center of gravity.

75 mph is a line of shit unless he is talking about doing 75 on the trailer going down the interstate.

Thanks, I appreciate your opinion. Looks like this is definitely another to pass on.

I'm sorry about your wife's job loss, just happened to a good friend of mine. I'm trying to find one close enough to see before buying, I'll let you know if anything changes. Good luck with the sale, it's a beautiful Pilot.
