is there any interest in a reproduced parking brake cable?
i had a really hard time finding one. i finally got one, but in my search i found a couple companies that were willing to make it for me.
im just wondering if there would be any interest in them if i had some made.

I believe that has been tried and there is something special about one of the fittings. I know the shifting cable set has ben reproduced.

I'm sure there is a need, but I remember the last of the OEM parking brake cables going for a lot of beans.

i sent a cable to a usa contact. if they can make them ill use them. if not ill have to send it out of country. i can get them made for sure out of country but i will have to have 1000 or so made. that will be a lifetime supply.

Hey JUNKBOY. You ever get that cable? Any body ever tried Motion Pro? I've had them make custom cables for me in the past and they were always perfect.

sorry, guys.
ive been extremely busy and that got set by the wayside. i got the sample cable in stock but it was missing the alligator boot that keeps the sand out of the cable. other than that, it looks like it will work perfectly. i needed to get with the company & see if they could revise the cable to have that on it, but have not gotten to it. i will make an effort to get with them this week. if anyone needs an e brake cable & wants to use this one missing the rubber boots on each end, i would be willing to sell it cheaper. i just bought two more machines so the one missing the brake cable, im not in a super hurry to work on it. cable would be $65 including shipping inside the usa. normally they would be $100.
i will still work on getting them made with the boots on each end.

ok. sorry i took forever. i got my sample parking brake cable installed. it works great. i need to talk to the company about the rubber protector to help keep the sand out as it was missing those on the ends, but other than that. it was a perfect fit.

Good to know there is an option out there. Honda made such good parts. Look at the details. The groove to hold the boot in place, the cable was centered on the eyelet on the handle end, the bushing on the pivot end that goes in the arm of the brake cylinder. Man Mr. Honda really watched the details.

You try https://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/custom ?

Check a Honda parts site they might sell the rubber boot? I would check with the ATC sites those guys might have a source for the rubber boots.

i asked them about the rubber boots & below is what they told me. ill run the one i installed on my long travel pilot & ill order in a couple so i have some in stock ready to go. it looks like they will be without the rubber boots. mr. honda did things right for sure. ive always been a fan!
"Good Morning,
I just asked the cable tech about the rubber boots. He says we do not provide the boot and he suggests not using them because they actually collect the sand and dirt with moisture and can corrode the wire faster. All of our cables have a Teflon lining to prevent from debris from entering the wire."

i think motion pro was one of the companies that said they couldnt make them because of the eyelet, they did not have anything that would work. i had to talk to a couple companies before i found one that was willing to try & make them. bench testing it, it seems to work great!
