Not sure what I am going to get next.
Low compression was the issue. Got a new piston and had the cylinder machined.
Just curious but what did the piston look like ?? Any pics ??
You did a lot of work on that machine and I would hate to see you sell it just because you got mad.
I melted nine pistons in a row before I figured it out. In my opinion the deadliest issue for an FL350
Engine is fuel supply and octane rating. I know you probably checked but what was the fuel flow on the pump ?? Also the oddy runs real hot because it is air cooled and the fools mounted the Engine behind the seat. I believe there were recalls on pistons, head design, and the air scoops. If you were running shitty octane fuel on an air cooled oddy your ded. It will detonate. I can't prove it but I bet more than three quarters of the Engine blow ups could have been prevented if Honda just told everyone to run race gas or 100LL Avgas or Avgas/premium fuel mix. Just my opinion and others will challenge me on it but my problems went away after I bought new fuel pumps, verified flow and ran Avgas.
