I have had some interest in the aluminum side panels I am using on my FL350 build.
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17009&start=50

I have contacted the gentleman that I purchased them from and he said that I could share his contact info. Anyone interested can contact him at this email address:

info@CustomWaterTrailers.com

He sometimes take a little bit to respond, but he does. Everything is made to order and the side panels sell for about $130-$150. He also can make nerf bars for $195. If there is enough interest, he may give a better price for a group buy.

I have requested a aluminum hood for the FL350 but haven't received a price yet. I will update when I do.

There are obviously cheaper options for side panels but I really like the look and durability of these.

Email Response:

"We've sold out of what we had built but have started producing side panels on a made to order basis. Often we only sell 2 pieces per side as our "main" set. They cover the cage from the front fender back to the B pillar. We also have small panels that cover from the B pillar back to the upper link mount. Pic attached. We can make the panels with a cut out for the air scoops or without a cutout if you have done a water cooled conversion. We do not include any hardware to mount the panels as we officially quit producing Odyssey and Pilot parts years ago & no longer stock the hardware. The parts you saw on ebay were likely ours as I have never seen side panels for sale from anyone but us. A main set is $145 + $25 to ship in the US. The rear panels are $50 & ship for free with a main set. We would be happy to offer a discount for multiple sets or a group buy.

Thank you for your interest & have a good day
James"

You are correct! He is the one that made the aluminum foot tubs.

I have contacted him and he said that he may be willing to start producing them again. Since there has been so much interest in them, there is really only one question.

How much would people be willing to pay for them?

Please comment below if you would be interested in the foot tub and what you would be willing to pay for one.

If anyone has purchased one of these in the past, please comment with a review of this product. I personally have not owned one.

I have one that I haven't put in the oddy yet, but figured I would make another from the one I purchased. But I have his side panels already on both oddy's and would love to see what his foot tubs look like and would be willing to pay up if if easy to install and remove.

This is the one I already have, not sure if it's one of his.

I wish i would of thought to ask him about the aluminium foot tub before i purchased a cracked plastic one from eBay. That aluminium tub looks awesome.

Anyway. I contacted the guy threw email, he took a few days to respond but was extemely helpful. I purchased a set of aluminium side panels using paypal.

Btw: i saw yesterday that he posted another set of panels to ebay.

Just having a foot tub that comes out before the weekend is over would be like Christmas morning.

I'd buy one, if I recall he was asking around $350 when he was making them, I have his side panels, roof and nerfs, he quit making stuff before I could get a tub......

I think $350 for a foot tub is a bit steep.

$250 is a reasonable price and that is what I would be willing to pay for one. That's what I told him & I think that he would have more interest at this price mark.

He will start producing parts for the FL350 again if there is enough interest. I thought there was after reading viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13411 but judging by this thread I no longer think so and don't want to waste anyone's time.

Anyone can feel free to contact him. Super nice guy and likes to do business with the Odyssey community.

Not yet. I will be making him a template to work from and he is going to send me one to test fit prior to offering them for sale. I'll be sure to update when there is a completed accurate product.

I love these panels. Fitment was great, panels seem to fit well against the frame. Built very well, deburred and edges chamfered. I asked if he could extend the panels to the front shock for a little extra. Took about 2 weeks from payment to delivery but well worth it.

Looks good. I did not read through the thread/know that much about your machine.
Is it water cooled? I don't see the scoops behind the seat or room for air flow now that the panels have been installed, this might not end well if your machine is air cooled

I have a 1979 Polaris Apollo 340 snowmobile Engine. It is fan cooled just behind the passenger wheel. The panel should hopefully prevent mud from slinging into the fan and get blown out the top past the heads. Its a noisey machine but runs strong for something with points and condensors (I just replaced...lol) wish It had CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition), or a starter, or just STOCK. I havn't had problems with it getting to hot but I don't think the panels will hurt. Here is an old pic.

These look neat. It almost makes me think you could make these ourselves. Diamond plate is easy to get and the template looks pretty easy.

I used to work in a metal fabrication shop. I made all kinds of structural steel pieces as well as tables and other personal projects. I argued that point also that I could make it. But to purchase a cheap metal brake press from harbor freight was at the very least $60 then i wish i could use a 4' shear, but limited to hand cutting with snips so no straight edge. too much work.

Sometimes its cheaper and easier to have someone do it for you.

True but I've made a floor pan for an old Harley Davidson Golf Cart using an Angle grinder for the cuts. I notched the bend and used 2 pieces of 2 by 4's clamped to bend the edges straight. Cleanup was using my wheel grinder for edge fixing and polishing.

I'm just saying by looking at the finished pieces, it looks very doable.

The hood is now available. I have one coming to me but have not seen it in person yet. Overall I think it is a really good design and should do its job well. Keeping out dirt, mud, rocks, branches, etc. It should also be easy to modify if needed (for lights). I will be modifying mine & will update once I receive it.

Made this missing piece out of a sheet of Diamond Plating. Just need to rivet the sides. Then make some floor plates and possibly a hood if I have more material. All done with just some cardboard templates and an Angle Cutter. Probably going to paint the pieces Gloss White to match the rest of the plastics.

Looks good, nice work!

I will be getting a aluminum sheet this weekend and will be attempting to make my own foot tub as well. I am going to try to make mine like the one MGurgone40 posted a picture of above but make it 3 pieces. 1 full floor that comes up and over the front and then 2 side pieces.
