Hey! Welcome to the forums.

For the non-engine parts I would recommend Derek Tisinger. He prefers phone calls. +1 661-747-5796

For the Engine parts I would call CW Racing. He can take your Engine from stock to very modified depending on what you're looking for. +1 408-930-1000

@scpilot66 and @socalgii will likely have some parts you need as well.

Thanks for the info i will message a couple of the people you have listed and hopefully get mine back up and running. Im from the uk as well so will need parts shipping over for me to build the Engine anyway.

Cr500 Conrod with fl400 wrist pin bearing is a perfect fit.

Wiseco pistons, or cw racing pistons for 82+ mm.

Bearings and seals are obtainable.

Reverse light you can use any white 12v light probably.

Tell us more about your project!

What year cr500 con rods fit?

I've just rescued the pilot from some ones feild, its missing a few parts like
Rear light
Reverse light
Front brake lever
Hand brake is missing
The wrist braces are missing
Fuel cap is missing is the any aftermarket replacements
Front lights have had the internals taken out
I need to find a new drive belt or does anyone know of any aftermarket ones.
The r/h rear mud guard is broken and missing part of it and the brackets are broken as well.

That's just a few things ive seen so far, the piston had been removed as the piston ring had broken. Bottom end looks ok so hopefully just a top end rebuild for now.

If that thing had no top end and was sitting in a "field" then it's gona be a complete tear down wether you like it or not. If you don't you're just gona blow it up. You have no idea at this point if the Engine seals are good or if there were air leaks on the gaskets. It's a tear down.

Also when you finally do get everything done, don't even start it until you have done a fuel flow test on the fuel pump. Trust me on that one.

It was filled with oil when i had taken the barrel back off. So the previous owner had all intention of putting it back together.
I have every intention of stripping the Engine anyway that's why im searching for the parts.

Whats the difference between the crankshaft pin on the fl400 and cr 500 as well. Do you use the cr500 bearing and thrust washers as well.

I don't own a Pilot but this is the belt info I got on my computer:
Pilot belt:
HP 2003 ----- Outside Circumference (in) 40.88 Top Width (in) 1.19
Stock Honda Pilot Belt - part #: 22102-HEO-0003
Marshall HT1121 (not as thick as the Honda belt)
Dayco Max 1121 (not as thick as the Honda belt)
Gates Trail Runner 19T4090 (not as thick as the Honda belt)

Hope this helps but I would want a Pilot owner to confirm any belt listed that is not the stock belt or the HP2003 belt.

To answer your con rod question, please read the two posts below. They're old posts but relevant.

The cr500 rod, bottom pin, and bearing are a match for the fl400. The upper wrist pin on the cr500 is too wide hence use a fl400 wrist pin and bearing from a fl400 full piston kit.

From reading up on the cr 500 rod compared to the fl400 rod the only difference is the small end being wider, has anyone had any problems fitting these to the standard fl400 pistons.

No issue

Btw if you don’t have the equipment to press cranks you should not attempt this yourself. Send the crank out to Competative cranks.

That's not a problem mate. I rebuild engines for a living and press and balance cranks all the time.

I have my own motocross track and worrked for a honda dealership for a number of years. I work for my self now and rebuild engines and suspension. Also run a small practice track. Im hopefully going to get this pilot all sorted and have some fun this summer at the track.

I was looking closer at that pic you posted.
It appears to be in pretty good shape for something that sat in a field.
I see:
1) Grass in the wheel areas so yeah it was sitting in a field LOL.
2) Looks like some kind of strap holding the exhaust (muffler) pipe on.
3) It also appears to have been rolled. The main roll bar looks like it has the normal tweak in it when you roll one of these. It's hard to tell from the angle of that pic though. Need a direct side shot of that machine to be sure.
4) Other cosmetic stuff.
5) This is a definite rebuild candidate in my opinion. Money well spent.
