Looking to source a new or used jet needle for a stock Keihin carb for a FL250. Hoping someone has an extra parts carb sitting around somewhere. Please let me know if you can help or know of another one that fits/works as a replacement.

Thanks

According to service Honda that part is no longer sold but you can get a kit that includes the needle and jets etc.
According to the parts number if you order a kit from a 1976 MT250 Honda motorcycle it should be the same.
There are lots of kits on Amazon.ca and it's about $50 ($40usa) shipped.
Here is the link: https://www.amazon.ca/HONDA-MT250-KEYST ... B078HDPVQT
You could most likely get it on Amazon.com for you American guys.
Don't quote me on this info above but I believe it would be correct based on the part number.
CO

Edit: It doesn't show up on service Honda because they only go back to 1977 and the carb kit needed is from a 1976 model.

@CanadianOddy

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately none of the rebuild kits include the jet needle☹️ and every listing that I have found shows sold out/ discontinued. The main jet screws directly into the jet needle and as I was removing the main jet it seemed to be already brittle and ready to break because it sheared off the top of the jet needle with hardly any force. I was able to retrieve the lower part from the carb threading and the top end from the main jet but it is now in 2 pieces. I am willing to buy a new carb just for the part if necessary but would rather try to source the needle jet. I’m also considering just taking it to a machine shop to have a couple new ones made, or perhaps even a jewelry repair shop see if they can solder/braze it back together. I would attempt it myself but brass has such a low melting temp I’m not sure I trust myself. This is the only part for the 40 year old machine that I have had trouble finding so far, hopefully it gets resolved. Thanks again

This should work.

You’re wanting part #3, right? This kit should have it.

Yes #3 is the one, unfortunately none of the carb rebuild kits contain it. Thank you very much for replying though. I attached a couple photos of #3, hopefully they upload.

Ok now I understand.
I misread your post on what you wanted.
I thought you wanted the needle.
A picture is always worth a thousand words.
I'll keep looking into this.

Edit: By the way I see that you are a new guy here. Welcome.
Unfortunately this site is almost ded now.
Many of us old timers have left and don't show up very often so you will have to wait for answers many times.
I think I might have an old Keihin carb from an FL350 laying around so I'll have a look later today to see if that part is still in it.

I have two of them in my junk box.
I'll make a short video and post it on my youtube and then paste the link here.
This will take a bit.

Here ya go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBHXcx3_qnM
The measurement I was talking about in the vid is 1.288" -- NOT -- 1.388" as I stated in the video. That's 33mm.

Looking closer at the picture you posted I believe you might want the piece you see me unscrew from the bottom of the carb.
Let me know which one you are after.

Yes it is the piece that you unscrewed from the carb. Does it have threads on the bottom where the main jet screws in? How much would you like for it?

It's free.
You MUST pay the shipping though. Don't know what it is but it's such a small piece the post office won't charge much.
Yes it has threads as that is where the main jet screws into.
So just to verify we are talking the same language, the piece you want is the one you saw me unscrew in the video correct ?

On the main page of this site you can see my name as well as everyone else's that has posted recently.
Just click on my name and there will be a tab that says "PM".
That means private message.
You can send me your name and mailing address there or you can just post it here in this thread if you are ok with that.

Also of note is that this piece only excepts the round style jets NOT the hex jets.
Round is Keihin and hex are Mukuni.

Ok the package is shipped at 12:50 28/08/23.
At the bottom (just above price) you can see your name and zip code.
I did not add tracking because the homo's at the post office wanted almost double the price.
You owe me $10 for shipping and the envelope. Parts are free.
My address on the package and inside.

Lets see what happens -- ;)
