I just bought 350 odyssey last week, the tranny was broke, the input shaft was falling out of the case and the case was broke around the shaft, the guy I got it from gave me another tranny that was tore apart and stuck in a 5 gallon bucket.
after taking all the good parts and trying to make a usable tranny I found out that 2 of the gears were damaged and I needed the #33 25x31x17 needle bearing.
after spending many hour online I found some of the needle bearing and ordered 8 of them today, good idea to get a few extra since they are no longer available from honda.
I still need the #17 primary gear and the #18 countershaft gear.
please let me know if you have any extra gears that you would sell.

I got a great deal on the odyssey, only $500 :-) , the elecric start works great, the Engine seams to run fine, it needs some other small stuff, front fenders and e-brake cable and other misc stuff.
Since I got it so cheap I can put some $ into it and make a nice ride, just have to get the tranny fixed to I can start riding

Thanks
Bob

You got a great deal on that one. I saw that on Portland Craigslist too and called, but I was too late. The kid said that you called about 10 minutes after he posted the ad on Craigslist, and that you came and got it that night. Good find. Not very often can you find a basically complete FL350 for only $500. It's hard to find a decent complete FL250 for that price. I just paid $500 for an 83 FL250. Enjoy your ride after you get the tranny back together.

By the way, when I saw the Craigslist pics, it looked like it was hit hard in the left front quarter. Bumper looked bent and fender busted there. I'd expect something was bent on the suspension too, but maybe it was fixed.

Did the kid also really throw in the extra set of wheels/paddles shown in one of the pics?

I don't think he understood what that FL350 was really worth - even with the busted tranny.

I think the bunber took all the impact when they hit something.
I did NOT get the extra wheels he had in the pics, he said he could NOT FIND THEM.
i didn't get the odyssey until the day after I called, He told me I was the 4th person to call and he would sell it to the first person that was there with the cash @ 4:30 the next day.
I got there about 45 minutes early, he got home @4:30, I paid him, we put in in the back of my truck and another guy showed up wanting to buy it.

I should have it driving on monday :-) ,just waiting for a bearing.

You are correct, after closer inspection the tie rod is bent, I will have to get a new 1.

You can straighten the tie rods, I modified a set of FL350 rods for MassOdys 350 like I mod the Pilot tie rods I don't know if he has had a chance to test them yet or not their might be a clearance issue with the larger OD after the mod.

hoser, thanks for the info on the tie rod.

I just won a used transmission off e-bay, a few guys tried to outbid me in the last minute but I put a high bid on it a few days ago, I will keep the 1 I'M rebuiling for a spare.

I think the next items to get for the odyssey will be wheels and tires, the kid I bought it from beat the heck out of the wheels and he had mismatched size tires on the rear

Thanks
Bob

I straightened the tie rod today, 1 good thing about weighing 225# , I stuck it in a vice and put some weight into it and got it fairly straight :-)

Were are you located at? there is another 250 on portland craigslist it has a water cooled head and has full suspension, looks like works shocks on the rear and Ohlins shocks on the front, nice looking odyssey for $600.

Bob,

I agree that looks like a great deal. I just went to Craigslist after reading your post. I'd guess that it's probably gone by now. I live in Eastern Washington and by the time I'd get over there, it'd probably be gone. That's what happened with that 350 that you scored. I was ready to hit the road and get over there and found out that it snatched up within hours of posting. I used to live in Vancouver, WA so I was searching in that area because I was also familiar a bit with Portland area. Not much to choose from out here in E. Washington.

Looks very tempting and I'd like to call, but I'd hate to try to call the guy at 10:30PM and wake him up!

Thanks for the heads up,

Ed

The stock tie rods are extremely tough material I had heck with my 210# of arse pulling on them!!! I am not sure what material they are made of but tough they are!!!

It's running good, I have not had a chance to take it out and do any serious ridding, I just take it out and ride around the yard, I have been mostly working on it in my spare time. and getting it ready for sping time.
I had to get 2 new tires for the rear, they had 2 different size tires on the rear, had to replace the front shocks, they had some funky chrome shocks on it that were 2" to short,I put some FOX shocks that were from a snowmobile on it, they fit perfect, replaced the broke fender and fixed the other fender, I still need install a foot tub, the original was trashed, I got a replacement, just need to put it on, added some more driving lights, replaced the old seat belts with a CROW 5-point racing harness.
I just got a set of WORKS shocks for the rear, I have not put them on yet, maybe tomorrow then take it out for some riding :-) .

Sounds good Bob. It will be more fun to ride in the Spring when the weather warms up. With temps in the teens and 20's at times, it's hard to get excited to work on them or ride them. When driving, the wind chill makes the hands go numb fast around here!

The odyssey looks alot better now :-)

since getting it running I have put on a used water cooled head, I used a 1984 yamaha 1200 radiator and fan, aluminum gas tank, rebuilt the rear brake caliper, put on a E-brake cable since it did not have 1, works shocks on the rear, rear LED tail lights, extra running lights in the front, replaced the broken foot tub, crow 5 point harness..
and I'M sure there are a few other things that I can't think of now
I have a COMET clutch I need to put on.
The next thing will be a new exhaust.

Bob
