I had this idea to protect the pilot when I stand it up on end to store it or to clean the underside. I used a bump stop from energy suspention that I ordered from Summit Racing. The part number for the black pair is ENS-9-9121G or it comes in red which is ENS-9-9121R. I used a 5/16 drill after drilling a smaller pilot hole. Then I taped it with a 3/8 X 16T tap. The bump stop just screws inplace. Add a little threebond or locktight to keep it in place. I located it where the bars cross on the back of the frame for strength and drilled the holes 1/4 in above the weld. Not a bad idea at all. Very clean looking pilot. How about a few more pics. |

Forgot to mention that this works really great when you tip up a Pilot on end to clean it really well after a ride trip. A majority of Pilots are always scratched in this spot from tipping them up. This is one of the few areas of paint damage on my Pilot as well from before I bought it. This is one more pic showing that they are holding up well over time. your missing the covers over the shock reservoir valves. I like the rubber bumper idea. I always toss down rags and its a pain as they get wet. |

The person that owned this before chewed them up buy using a screwdriver or somehting to pry them off. It looks a lot better with them off. It does have caps on the valve now though. This pic was just before I rebuilt my rear shocks. |
