A little something I made a few months ago... I wanted something to carry a tire with me in case of a failure in the middle of nowhere... Also wanted a place to store tools or a spare gas can.... randy at http://www.odysseysalvage.com suggested a set of nerf bars would make a better place for a gas can...

randy at http://www.odysseysalvage.com suggested a set of nerf bars would make a better place for a gas can... Nice, I like the concept, it looks a little heavy to me but I like to keep accessories weight down as low as possible. I have never been a fan of using a U type bolt to clamp something to the frame, I cant see in your pics exactly what your using them on. Picture this, take a piece of tubing slightly larger than your frame where your going to attach your new rack, cut it about 2.5" long then split it length wise in two pieces, weld one half to your accessory then use hose clamp to hold it to the frame, your pretty much making a saddle for a horse... the hose clamp holds it on. |

I like that idea... The clamps seen are used to hold the radiator in place... actually a set of aluminum angle that the radiator is attached to... I still need to figure out if maybe a bolt going under the mounts on rack will work??? I haven't used this yet, but had it out so I put it on to show...I will re make one day when I get a tubing bender and notcher... |

Turbo, what did you end up making your side panels out of? Was it lexan? If so, where did you purchase it? Also, did you make your own number plates out of the same stuff, or did you buy number plates made for a quad? Thanks, and your Oddy is looking awesome |

Yes It is lexan, and I found a place in San Antonio that sold it... 80+++ bucks for a 4x8 sheet... I was able to buy Scraps that they had for 20.00 enough to make side panels, and number plates... Need to go back and get enough for a hood... |
