Did I mention how much I hate MUD...
This last race was three laps thru some wet snot and this stuff still wasn't all dried up yet! I pulled the fenders off and tried to get the side panels off but I stripped the phillips on 3 of the 4... it took me that long to realize the screwdriver was too small... I sure hope the still have these as I will have to notch them with the dremel...
I have a torn cv boot from washing with the high pressure hose at the track It already had a crack started and new it was coming...
Any one have a puller for the stub to loan me so I can do the 800 reasons antisieze???
I am ordering the kits from rockline so they will be waiting on me when I get home from this trip I am loading in Laredo to go to South Carolina...
Then I am hoping to have some new shocks delivered by the time I get home if all works out like I think...
I am still debating on the works or the fox airs... They both seem to add an inch to the travel. The works is just as adjustable as the fox but I wont have to buy the nitrogen tank to change the works... I just don't know if I want to spend the extra 300.00 or not...
I am sure on day I will end up with some long travel in the rear...

Next race is November 29th so I have lots to do when I get back from this trip out... I hpe I find a big load coming back LOL
I only seem to work when I need parts???

Turbo, that's exactly what my box says it for part numbers-there a part number for the store that had the kit, but that's not going to help you too much. They don't have anything there, I know Hoser went there years back-let me look for you--

http://pilotodyssey.com/rockford.htm

try this number with them:
636-1303 kit cv boot-outboard
the boxs has a rockford decal with part number AB300
BOOT HAS PART NUMBER ON IT:
184-10A AND IT IS A ROCKFORD DURABOOT cv joint boot kit-

hope that helps you Turbo-not to be stupid arse here, but are they discontiued from Honda?I have some here, but don't want to part with them-sorry.

Honda's are discontinued, Advance Autos suck (work good at first but dry out quick)

I might try this guy's kits. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWAX%3AIT

If you read his ad It states part# AB300 for outboard kit and AB301 for inboard kit, same part# Mudboger has?

These are the boots I bought for all 3 pilots, very nice, better than many I've seen, but I have never seen the Rockford boots.

I am headed to Florida, but still kinda stuck here in Texas waiting for my load to come over from Mexico... Does anyone have some pictures of the clip I am supposed to take out to get my cv boot replaced? I will be short on Time by the time I get back from Florida maybe thursday night?
I know I need a good set of snap ring pliers, getting the mfrom sears, but what can I get to make removing the clip easier with out shooting it out into the front yard???
I will be real pressed for time trying to get turkey with Mom and Dad... I hate thanksgiving never could stuff myself then watch football all day???
then the kid wants to race the weekend race so I have all that prep work top do on his bike and then replace the cv boot and hopefully at least get the new shocks on and fenders and plastic mounted back up... Then race nets and nerf are coming along with new belts... I am hoping they let up hold up the deliveries till after thanksgiving so I wont have to bounce empty and rush into this...
ictures help me a lot!!!
Thanks

Finally have a moment to sit down and recap what I have been up to... I had 2 races planned and they both cancelled at the last minute??? I had some new tech rules thrown on me by one group that had the first race, 3" belts, fire suit, nets and still had to replace the cv boot and install Fox Shocks! I was able to get it done in time but they still cancelled on me!
The boot replacement was pretty easy, once I found the wire that locked the cv in the axle piece that goes into the tranny... Being as I was supposed to race I skipped the 800 reasons fix and will now do it when I get the seal I ordered from Service Honda... While I had the axle out I started the install of the bracket LUTREV made me! It was real easy, and he had some good instructions!!! Included the tap and drill bit also!!! We need to find someone to make this for us!

the next thing I knew I was going to have to deal with, before the race was wussed out on was the weather, cold and wet... I found some old road sign layed over by a car so I snatched it up, and made a mid skid plate to cover the pipe and the transition from the ATVRacing skidplate to the rear stock skid... I even drilled out the holes so I could remove the seat without having to drop the front skid... I didn't think of snapping pics of this will get them later...
Remember the cold and wet... well I didn't want to get soaked in Mud again in this race, so I went back on my old sheetmetal skills and fab'ed up a hood from a 22 ga. 24x24 from tractor supply. I had a left cut and right cut offset snips and a piece of angle iron and vise grips for my break! I used the work trailer for the other half of my makeshift break! The hardest part was gettin the front piece bolted thru the plastic without it being seen, was hard to reach... The pictures don't show it painted, but has most of the measurements for the next time!!
