used to be... worked 2-3 years in rat shops and then was in my second year of apprenticship and got burned out/and wanted to make saddles and Chaps... Did that about 8 years and kinda lost my ass the last year due to landlord issues...

I told ya it looked better painted!!!
I started the next phase of the hood upgrade and that is a place to mount my rezzies where they can catch some wind! I had some plates from the ugly big ash lights left over, so I mounted them and will add a piece of tubing between them to mount the rezzie cans on. It will also serve as a place to mount my camera and gps device when needed!
Anyone here use a Novi 500 gps unit???
I wish it would dry up around here so I could ride it and test out the new fox shocks!!!

What I did today was to build my cross-bar to mount the cans and a camera for my turbovision!
I then straightened out my rollbar and added some reinforcements...

I hate winter!!! Last few days wet and cold, today sun is out but wind is howling from the north and feels like 30 degrees out!!! Just checked weather.com and I was close! 31 degrees... I sure wish I would have build a shop this summer LOL
If it dries up later I will take the new shocks out for a spin...
Need to make a puller for my axles next, have a leak from tranny that worries me,

I am not happy with how the fox shocks are working... Just not set up right... Maybe Lutrev being 20 pounds lighter makes a big difference... I will take them off and send back to have re-done, but I eally don't know what to tell them...

What don't you like?

After a ride measure how much of the shock shaft you have sticking out, just wondering how much sag you have in the shocks, I will measure mine tomorrow just to give you an idea where mine is maybe Lutrev can measure his too.

LOL That makes 2 of us! hehe...
I doubt a tire shop would mess with them but it won't hurt to ask...
I will try to get some measurements on Sag tomorrow... that won't be easy cause I am home alone... LOL I could use the camera somehow to view it when I get in...
And trev it seems to spring up in the rear... I don't know how to edit the video with windows movie maker to go to SLOW MOTION Does anyone here know how???
I also have some tire rub marks on the upper portion of the shock... will measure how high up they are...

what I don't like is at 26 seconds not as bad at 38 seconds only because I wasn't on the gas as much... you can hear at 26 seconds how I let off the gas...
at 4:01 seconds you can hear it and see the shock disappear from the screen...
I clipped some pictures at the end...
I wish I knew how to do the slow motion, but I just tap twice from pause to play to pause real quick like LOL

yea the big truck has a dryer, but the regulator only goes to 115psi... I might have a off road shop that can change the nitrogen...

Ok I,m starting to get the way they work. The shock is gas over oil with shim stacks. "H"'s shock has an ressie. and turbos does not. If I understand correctly ( still learing) added gas changes preload. If this is true then spring rate is stil spring rate, You have added static laod to the shock. This will effect stiffen up the stroke but the bottom out poundage is the same. This will also effect rebound and quicken it up which it lookes to me to alredy be to quick. If adding oil as you lower pressure it effect compression and keep cavatation in check. then the opisite is true also.

Turbo please do not try to asorb this for I'm learing. It reminds me of a quad kicking on breking bumps. I would take Lutrevs advise. If your gone run these shocks I would recomend a tank and valve, your gone need it. Plus gas is not that expensive and can be hauled as a stable gas.

I hope other that use these will help dial in and teach me a little.

I am trying to find a 4x4 shiop in the are that has the nitrogen... no luck yet...
Was hoping to avoid buying the gas but looks like I will have to...
just not sure where to get the attachment... looks like HVAC shops should have it but how much is the question...

check out motion pro web site. You need a filler that is accurate. I tried to find info at fox wil no luck other than valve specs. I thought they wer shim stack which there not. There a valve which require the valve to be change verse changing the shim stack washers. looks like the cheapest solution is gas and oil untill you can make sure a vavle change is necessary.

ok first thing I am going to try to do is set my sag at 30% which I believe is what works sets theres at...
8.25 x .30 = 2.475 or 2.5 inches down when I am in the seat... is this what I should do???

ok I found a place that has the nitrogene... $20 a pop sooo... It is the motorcycle shop and he works on atv's too, but I don't know if he will know what I need??? and quite honestly I don't either LOL
I will check sag first, I am aiming for 25% to 30% is this right?
Now I feel it is bottoming out too easy... adding nitrogen will increase ride hieght, but also reduce sag am I correct?

ok looking at the video at 6 minutes i don't think I have enough sag... you can see me get out of the pilot and it doesn't come up but maybe 1/2 to 1 inch I am guessing???

Right adding nitrogen will increase ride height and reduce sag, it will also make the shock rebound faster, adding more oil will increase the compression ratio meaning as the shock reaches the end of travel it will get harder or stiffer keep you from bottoming out.
