Did a post ride inspection after the woods ride. Had some play in the left rear. I noticed the rear upper arm moved right to left as I moved the tire in and out. Only a couple thing cause that one the snap ring popped out of place and bearing loose in the arm or bad bearing. Since the rear arm as a solid back and one snap ring I doubt it was the snap ring. Once removed I can hold the bearing collars and move the bearing back and forth inside the bearing race. So bad bearing it is too much play. I replaced both side and keep good parts for spare.

Last three, cleaned up the bad ones to show how much play in them. Nice and tight now ready go play some more and test some new front and rear shock valving. I do a write up on it once I'm done.

Yea the front do indeed go first. The rear on mine take a lot of abuse. I cut the ends off the old arms to make new ones so I could have the bearing set up. Plus I could use all straight tube the make new arms. The cheap way of dong it. Built a simple jig and welded in an old ball joint and arm pivot points. Then moved the ball joint location back two inches and Cut off pivot ends so they would stick into new tube and the factory ball joint end and cut straight tube to and fabbed up to clear shock. Welding skills hacker at best been lucky no failures to date. Ill post up a couple pics when I get out to the garage |
