Hello All I do not post much very dizzy lately

I Have slickricks Cranks here and I been going thru them and I finding some Interesting Data

First off the crank that was welded and that had move out of concentric

I tried to straighten it back up but it was not moving back to where it need to go even after grinding the weld off the side that cracked.

so I clean up all the weld and pressed it apart then clean every thing up for inspection
this is was I have found see pic's and NOTES below

with the findings that i have found we have about .003" press fit or .0015" preside
witch is good but the crank that was welded should have been trashed or fixed on the clutch side
If you look at the sizes below I have found that the crank get hammered on the compression stroke

The Bad crank can be fixed but my cost to much. the bore would need to be honed out and a step crank rod pin would need to be made and pressed in the wright way and noted on the crank how to remove

Thanks For looking Speed

File comment: mag side was the good side that the weld was not cracked Side to side was 1.0210 outside to 1.0209" inside closest to the rod . Now up and down compression stroke was 1.0215 NOTE new crank pin size is 1.0235

so I would say that this side is junk no matter how you weld it it will not stay there in less we have a new crank pin made to fit just this side

How about boring the hole out over sized then pressing in a bushing and welding the bushing in place then press in a standard crank pin true it up then weld the bushing to pin as normal?

I have seen stroker cranks where they press in a slug then machine the new hole offset to create the stroke they want.

that's a lot of setup work just for a bushing that would probably fail . welding it up would all right but still a lot of work
compared to a lap job and a over sized step pin because we all ready have the hole there
Or if we can find a good clutch side I sure it will work that way too
