I have the first one of Trevor's new style billet heads (s/n-001) and it works well....maybe a little too well!

If you guys are planning on using this head, I would suggest using a thermosiphon setup. If not you may want to put a switch on your water pump to shut it off until the head can get a little heat into the head. If it's below 70 degrees, mine takes forever to warm up to operating temperature! CAUTION: If you interrupt the pump, you will want to put an idiot light somewhere to remind you to turn it on!

Rand, will the thermosiphon setup be sufficient enough by itself?

Yes. As the water in the head heats up , it rises. This displaces the cold water in the radiator forcing it downward and into the head. This type of flow system has been around for a long time and I believe has been used on water heating and cooling systems long before being used on an Ody.
