Post subject:  Lapping Table

I thought I would share
I pick this table up at a scrap yard about 15 years ago for $100
it was flipped over so it was smooth on top and rusted
I was just looking for a good steel plate for a top of a cart

when I got it back to the shop to clean it up look what I have found
it was A old style lapping plate the way they use to do this was to put lapping compound in the groves to lap with in stead of paper

This was a cool find

thanks For looking

How much pressure do you apply if any? and how do you keep from taking off an uneven amount accross the surface you are lapping?
