The soda cars ran the polaris 480/500 sled motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) set up. Chassis had a few extra gussets and bars installed. My old gen 2 car was a previous soda car.

Soda was a Midwest racing class. Supposedly there are "wider" Briggs built cars specifically built for this class. I think they are the same as the Gen4 cars.

Their were only two Briggs cars built specifically for SODA I would have to dig out the rule book I have some place but going by memory they were 68" wide and I think 68" long I remember the owner talking about them being a square car or having a square foot print, the cc limit for the class was 440cc.

The other briggs cars that ran SODA were regular briggs cars that were built for West coast racing the owner of the two OX racing cars also owned one of the older briggs cars with the 360cc FL350 based Engine

This SODA car appears to have some different suspension work and some "owner mods"

While he did make a few purpose built soda cars, there were still other briggs cars built/modified to run in the series. I always left the soda inspection stickers on mine for the nostalgia effect.

King can you make the pics bigger? I'd like to read that article. I used to have it but cant find it. Pretty sure it says in there that the "bigger" cars were never finished because SODA pulled the plug. All these other pics are of the Gen4 cars, like Ricks. Like Rusty said, theres only 4.

Rusty have you seen the two that your talking about?

Woops, posted while Mr H posted.

Yup same as yours ;). A little history on your car buddy. It was Rennie Awannas car (team Manager of the natures recipe race team) He bought it from bob when the original owner backed out of buying it before it was finished being built. He only raced it a few times before it was sold to The guy joshs friend who richard bought them from. I wonder who got richards personal car. I tried but was a few minutes late.

Damn! Its like a soap opera!

I think its cool that you've kept track of all these cars Russ.

Who is Josh? I saw his name on one of the cars. Josh Johnson ?

I'd love to see pics of the longer cars!

Are there any more recent?

SORRY Rick.....way of track in your for sale thread!

Josh Johnson is a guy who fell in love with all the old superlites and bought everything he could at the time. He still owns one car but its not a briggs car and I want to buy it but he wont sell. another guy out here in Cali owns 3 briggs cars as well 2 gen 3 cars and 1 gen 2 car that Harold of hrd had built for his son to race.
But if anyone is interested I know of where another gen 3 briggs car roller will soon be for sale. Drop your fl350 Engine in and wire harness and off you go

Is Josh related to Jimmy Johnson?

What about the two longer cars? Any recent pics?
