Alain had a weak moment when working on my new Drak and broke the hood. The new hood arrived over Xmas break and I had a chance to install it today. The hoods appeared to be the same but as the adage goes, measure twice, drill once...or in this case, six times to get the holes lined up. Basically what I did was cross reference known dimensions from the previous hood and the locations on the Drak.

File comment: Cross marked...wrote down the distance to a known point on the frame and made a little picture on each one so I wouldn't forget I measured from.

Nice work. Did he say exactly how/why he cracked the original? Got to be a good story there, LOL.

Alain was removing the hood to gain access to the pedals. The pedals are adjustable on all Draks, and being that Drakman and I are a little taller (and wider) than the average guy we need the pedals as far forward as possible to generate space. Anyway, Alain took out the 6 holding screws for the hood, and then normally on a Drak the hood pulls straight up without a fight. But, whoever welded on the nuts for the rearview mirrors mounted them too low so the hood catches on them. So, removing the hood requires a little TLC to get it off. If you're in a hurry, you'll break it.
