as for the j arms i just bought a couple of used ones off ebay. i am lookin at aces that he already hat atv racin do the rebuildable upgrade to.

now the good news, i got it started today. after just a little priming it fired right up and runs good. i havent got the air filter yet and havent installed the silencer so itll need some fine tuning but should be no problem. you touch the starter for half a sec and it fires right up no problem.

now the bad, i bled and bled but i can barely get the brakes to work. ive heard this is a commom problem but im stumped.i used a vacuum pump then tried the old fashioned way but nuthin.

now the really bad, i cant get it to go into forward. itll go into reverse but not forward. i took the linkage off and i cant do it manually either. i hate to take ALL that crap back out to tear open the tranny but i guess i haveta. i swear it worked before i put it in the chassis but nuthin now.

You need to bentch bleed the master cylinder

Blending them is an pain in da arse

If you can't shift it even with your hands on the linkage without the cables connected...you've prob got your shift collars and/or arm wrong in your gearbox. Quadruple check its all there and in order. I remember having the same issue after the one gearbox rebuild I did (in buggy #1), and I had parts in wrong. It was something like...(using the mental machete to hack through my mind here)...two collars look like they're the exact same, but they aren't (?).

did the same thing with my spare trans
said screw it until i need it so it just sits that way

I'm trying to remember did you buy a master cylinder and steering wheel from fat cat

the thing with the brakes are really help the most is lock up the front drums and the rear disc with the parking brake
then try to bleed it

the 87 Kawasaki Mojave caliber is a no go

do me a favor and take off your cable bracket like the one in the photo
so I can see if the parts broken off inside or if its just missing
hopefully it's just missing

I took a look at mine and sketched it up.
All dimensions in mm.
It looks like the steel is 1045 or something.
I recommend something better than mild steel / 1008.
The small plate is spot welded on ( I don't think 1045 is good for MIG welding).
Good luck with the big hole - it's 3 squares overlayed.
I would drill a hole then file one square.

Are you talking about the tube that connects the back of the carb to the bottom of the air box or the hose that leads from the lower air box to the upper air box?

That can be had by buying Vacuum hose for a shop vac at your local Home Depot or Lowes.

I went to woodcrafters for the flex hose. Heavy duty stuff that way it will last. I bought that and a few fittings . The
stuff I bought was for dust collector.
