A year ago I bought a the complete snowmobile (1978 polaris cobra baby) and it had been sitting in a friends shed until a month ago when I finally got off my butt and pulled the Engine. Then I needed a frame.

I bought the Oddy (Early 80's?) at a salvage yard in boise. It had been sitting there FOR EVER. Came complete minus Engine. Anyway here is my collection of pictures from the build, which is getting close. I did take it out slowly the other day.

I am a local High School student and this is what I'm doing with the last real "Free Time" I'll have for awhile. Comments, Suggestions, Please!

I decided that there is no way I can make the (Engine basket?) fit around the Engine.

On some, but this particular Engine is Fan-Cooled, and those direct the air through the fins. There is a Fan blade type thing on the recoil side which forces air though "Duct work"

They did make some free-air sleds though (Just cooling fins)

New tranny brace suggested by hoser:

I have had it running great for while now. Had to pull the carbs back out and install new needle and seats and that fixed the running problem. Any who the thing has crazy amounts of power. spins the tires on pavement to no end.

I raced my friends fl350 and left it behind.
