Post subject:  Fl350 Airbox Mod.
This is my airbox mod. I will update when i make progress.

Everything is done in 1.5" PVC.
I shortened both the "Trap adapter" on both inside and outside and the elbow to make the elbow fit closer to the box for exhaust clearance too.
I have'nt installed the box yet but im pretty sure it will fit.
I also have to silicone around the outside/inside fittings for a water/air tight seal.
My plan is to use pvc pipe going up both sides of the cage to the k&n prefilters uptop and eliminate the oem box and light and replace the light with a 6"oval led.
Does anyone know what jet ill need to jump too when im fully modded?
I talked to Randy @oddy salvage before the holidays about jets which he says he has a"kit"? My question is has he been shipping stuff again or is he still ill and not able to work alot?? Id like to give him my businness i don't want to wait till july though....Thanks

You running a stock jet now? If so I'd buy a 145 and a 148 and you should be covered. I'm running a 145 in mine and it seems right on the money

Sudco has anything Keihin and Mikuni you can imagine. And the local ATV shop should have an organizer box full of most of the common jet sizes and increments.

I've got one PVC elbow out the side to a pre-filter, and I run a 145 main. But I want to jump to the 148 and see if my EGT temps come down a tad for winter conditions.

Take the jet out of the carb and go to an motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) cycle shop

You can buy a complete set of jets from Rocky mtn atv. I bought the Keihin and the Mikuni sets and although pricey it is nice to have any to all of them especially when you run multiple rides like I do.

Thanks everyone for the input. I found a local motorcycle repair shop and he's ordered my 2-5pk jet kits which are #145,148 jets.(denuch and I are doing airbox mods to 3-350s and 1 pilot. I looked at the local honda dealer and they wanted $6@ jet so it saved me money to buy the 5 pks.

Ive been thinking about the airbox mod and some questions have come to mind...

1. I ride mostly in the midwest. Mostly dry dusty conditions, sometimes muddy.

How does the mud/rain affect the filter quality/airflow if they get wet/muddy?
Will it then make the prefilter mute?
How much will a dirty/wet "nylon" cut down on flow?
Has anyone partially covered the prefilters to keep them from rain/mud?

I've seen on this site where someone made like a half shield a little bit away from the filter. Not sure who. Worst case it would make it run a little rich if they do get gummed up. Could make something that attached to the base of the filter to protect it from Denuch's roost, maybe even a little side protection from your own tires. Protecting the forward side would also help prevent sucking in the hot air off the Engine. Awe hell who even needs an air filter. Just get one of these!

Since youre putting in pre-filters, you can cut out that air shield from your airbox. It is supposed to keep large chunks or debris from hitting your primary filter, but is no longer needed.

Ok I just checked my jet and its a 140? It does run a little fat too. Should I goto the 142 with the dual intake and do a plug chop or will it be necessary to go to 145? Why would someone lower the jet on 81mm? I'm confused?

You could go with a 22.5 or a 45 degree elbow and point the filters down. I pointed mine down so if any water was to get on them it would not run into the tube. I also tried to keep my tubes going up hill. I was thinking more of while it was sitting, say in the camp site when it rains at night. Just a thought. does the fl350 airbox have a site tube on the bottom of the box? If so keep an eye on it to see if you do get any moisture collecting. that's what I do.

I ran mine for the first time this last summer in flatriver - dry and dusty as hell. I was realy happy the uni stayed nice and clean. It was so dusty I even wore a snout.

They look nice - not to sure about the blue - but that's just me. :-)

I actually slid the PVC through a piece of exhaust pipe. My brackets look like hell but they work... I think messer has a good idea also to put a 22.5 down angle to keep any water from going to the airbox!

WOW, I went for a ride! HOLY COW WHAT A DIFFERENCE THIS DUAL INTAKE MAKES! I spun my tires from a dead stop on pavement and it has ALOT more power! I should have done this 8 mo ago...now to get some Hoserizing...

not sure what you got for a carb on there, but with my 39mm even with dual intakes and it still chokes the shit out of it. if i take the air box lid off, its like a whole new Engine.
