Well this started out of nessesity, as my master cylinder sight sucks and bleeding sucks and the price of them sucks and so on and so forth.......so this is what we came up with, I don't know alot about brakes so we will see if it works. These are off of a artic cat 400 (06) and are very cheap and the bracket mounts in the same location, looks like maybe a slight mod to the cover will be needed but should have more pics by weeks end,

Not sure of the part number but alot of different atvs use this for the rear foot brake, that's what these are. I'll measure the pistons, but these will move alot more fluid than the stock master cylinder, and yes the stock cables are used. Those arms on the top are from the fl350's master cylinder. Duuuude, awesome! Nice, clever little bracket you made there. Those street bike and ATV rear master cylinders are a dime a dozen, too. Most are made by Nissin. Search "rear brake master" and they seem to start at around $10 each. And rebuild kits are plentiful. On all the quads I've owned, I've never had a rear master go bad. Its always the front master on the bars. Rear masters are a breeeeze to bleed, too. Are you just gonna mount the rezzy/rezzies wherever then? Subscribed! |

We will mount the reseviors infront of the dash and use both so if inthe future one goes bad you can change just that one, not like now when you have to take the whole thing off to rebuild. |

that's a really great idea. my oddy has ok front breaks but shitty rear brakes. please let us know how this turn out for you. something i might consider if it works out well for you |

Finished up today, works great, still need to bleed a little more but we ran out of time. It bleeds easy it took 5mins on the rear and 10 on the front to get a feel in the levers that is better than what I ever had before, rear is a little "spongey" feeling still, but still better.    ]

I have braided steel lines. We used a banjo 90 degree. |

Do you have braided lines all the way to the rear of the Ody? Do you have any pictures of the brackets you made without the masters attached? After testing you may want to make some up and offer them to board members! I don't need one but it sure is a sweet setup! Rand |

Thanks for the kind words, we will test first to make sure all is good but I see no reason this won't work other than bad master cylinder. One of the problems for making these for peeps is all the different master cylinder bolt spacing, theres alot out there yes, but I'm not sure of whats what between them all. This was done with all hand tools (Saws and drills) and a welder, I run SS lines but I'm sure you could make original lines work. We will try to come up with a drawing to give you a better Idea of how we did this. |

I would definitely buy a finished mount off you if you were to sell them. The opportunity is there...rather than spending $100+ on a used Oddy/Pilot master cyl, then $40 on rebuilding, and dealing with the major PITA of bleeding it... I'm sure someone (i.e. me) would pay a reasonable price for the necessary parts with which to convert to the twin-piston setup. "Reasonable price" being not too much to cause me to make my own, and enough to compensate you justly. ;) IMHO, Honda should've thought more "off-the-shelf" on this design flaw in the beginning! |

No, they are the same. I run front disc on my oddy, we finished bleeding the system and rode it, works great and bleeds ALOT easier, now if I can figure out why all my gauges blew (except for speedo) I'll be happy.............. |
