I know its another expense and a little more work but powder coat the frame now. If you don't you'll regret it later. I sure do. I'll recommend just the frame and the black parts though. The suspension can be removed, spray painted and put back on in a weekend. Rustoleum makes a gold that matches stock really good to if you like that color combo. Will save you money if you just do the frame also. Check out what Nelly did to his. I saw it in person. It was incredible. Made mine look like a beater. Mine will look like that one day in the future.

Don't feel bad,

I traded an 05 TRX400EX with about the same hours with a pipe, intake mods, trail tech vapor, etc, etc, etc! I feel your pain brother!

Right after I got my Ody I had to put a new rear brake disk and pads on it, rebuild the rear caliper, rebuild the master cylinder, replace the brake lines, rebuild the top and bottom end of the Engine, replace the rear shocks and replace the front J arms.

I traded the 400EX off because I managed to crash it three times and walked away all three times.....I didn't think I would walk away the 4th time and I'm getting too damned old to be riding hard like an 18 year old! I needed a roll cage!

yeah i was thinking about powerd caotin it but i want to make sure my trans holds up with this 583 if it doesnt im going to go with a rmp trans which is 1500 shipped to me which isnt that big of a problem but i well have to go to cv axles for there well be a lot of fab work and im not going to be doing it myself so theres most likely 1500 to 2000 there but then ive heard that that its hard to turn with a 583 don't know if its ture but i may want long travel in the front i know after i get it running im getting works shocks front and back anyways i kind of wanted to see what happens before i power coat but i think once its done it well be alot of fun

With a 583 it may not turn anyway. Long travel, short travel, it Wont matter when the front wheels aren't on the ground  :-)

wouldn't it be cheaper in the long run to buy the RPM trans now and sell your old trans and still good axles? say you got 800 bux for the old parts put them towards the RPM trans, go with the type II VW axles they are strong and cheap as hell almost free :-)

RPM gearbox for $1500? Are you sure? Is that from RPM or...?

I didnt think RPM was making the low HP version anymore.
